Why does the irs faqs state? If your stimulus check was deposited into a closed account we will research again or and mail you a paper check? My stimulus payment shows deposited april 15 2020 into an account I closed Nov. 10 2019. They went by 2018 information why? When it states the IRS will look at your most current filing? I filed my 2019 taxes WITH my current address (not from 2018 info like they did) and current banking on my current 2019 taxes? Yet they went and chose 2018? That's not current?? And it says we will look at your what can I do now. I really need that money being unemployed since march 15?
Hey. I hope this gets to you.. so my bank account was closed that my 2019 refund went to.. the where's my payment said it was issued to that closed account.. it was rejected and now there is a new date for it to be deposited..but it shows the same account. ?? Is that just a mistake or will they actually try to send it to the account that rejected it already? My question I guess is.. when you checked the status and it updated to a new date did it specifically say mailed or what?
@Country girl @JeanneLO after it got rejected. Did the new update say it was being mailed or did it say scheduled for deposit to the same account? Mine was the 15th and got rejected.. then now has an updated deposit date of the 22nd but to the same account? I'm worrying they will again try to deposit to closed account.. ughhh. Thanks
How long does it take to have the check come back to the IRS when your back reject it
Yes sad I filed 2019 april 5 they didn't give by most tent filling as they state on their website. They are going by my 2018 filing closed bank account and an address I haven't lived at in a year. Everything in my 2019 is current and they completely ignored the most recent filing. Today it still says deposited April 15 and ofcourse that account I closed november 2019.it hasn't been updated to say mailed. So needed that. Us people are suffering for errors like this
Like similar situation. IRS coded my deposit as a checking account, however the deposit should have been coded to a savings account all numbers where the same as fed/state tax return was used for same account, so my back sent stimulus back to irs for that purpose. On 4/15 deposit was sent to my bank; I couldnt check the IRS payment for almost 4 days it said I was locked out try back in 24hrs; finally i tried back logging in after 4 days and it has an update of 4/22/2020 with the same banking information
did it send to same close account?

The IRS cannot direct deposit into a closed account. The direct deposit will be rejected and the IRS will then mail a check to the address on your tax return.
Okay how do I check to see what address did the IRS sent my stimulus check
How did you get a date to be mailed? Were you able to get a hold of anyone?
And what happen after that how did u get your money
My stimulus check went to the clothes account I have a new account number
The IRS recently began issuing a second round of stimulus payments to those eligible. Unfortunately, because of an IRS error, millions of payments were sent to the wrong accounts and some may not have received their stimulus payment. If your second stimulus payment was delivered to a card that you no longer have, you may be able to get a replacement card. See this TurboTax Help.
If you were entitled to a stimulus payment but did not receive one, and you didn’t pay for TurboTax with your refund last year, you may need to claim the Recovery Rebate Credit on your 2020 tax return to get your money.
In TurboTax Online, you are prompted to input stimulus check 1 and stimulus check 2 information under Review down the left hand side of the screen.
You can access your stimulus check choices by following these steps:
TurboTax will compare your two payment amounts to the computation within TurboTax. The computations within TurboTax are based upon the information that has been entered into the tax software. If you are due an additional amount, it will be issued as a Rebate Recovery Credit (RRC) on line 30 of the 2020 1040 tax return.

can I still change the account now
