I am using Windows Desktop Version of Home and Business.
I have been using Turbo Tax since 2004.
I did click on Amend a Filed Return (Refile a Return That Has Been Accepted by the IRS).
The process was simple. The printed product makes it confusing because the cover sheet in the second block
says,
" Your amended tax return - Form 1040-X. Remember to sign and date the return.
Be sure to attach all forms or schedules that changed to your amended return."
BUT
The first viewable page is a1040-SR, not a 1040X.
Above that page there are 2 blank pages.
Could it be that is where the 1040X is supposed to be and the program has a bug or has not been updated?
That is the only sense I can make out of this. Need a Turbo Tax tech employee to look at this and provide an answer, PLEASE.
Thanks

I am having the exact same problem I went through the amend process and when I look at the file, there is no 1040-X form, only the 1040. This needs to be fixed by Intuit.
Are you still having this issue?
If you are using desktop software you may need to do a manual update. Try clearing your Cache and Cookies and then try this link instructions.
If you are using the online software, Clear Cache and Cookies.
I cleared the cache and cookies and performed the manual update. I am still getting the same outcome. The amendment shows my 1040-SR and there is no 1040-X
This is because of the Adobe Acrobat software needed for the PDF. You will need to download a free software (like Adobe Acrobat) so you can see the pdf.
Same thing. Seems nothing works in TurboTax. Never experienced so much pain in one tax year. Desktop version. Amended return, says to print 1040x, and guess what, nothing but blank pages where I'm guessing they are supposed to be generated. On hold now for support 10-15 minute wait. We'll see if that is accurate.
Update. Spoke with customer support rep. Was told that the 1040x should be there (duh!). When opening the .pdf form, two pages where the 1040x are supposed to be are blank. She had me just continue and efile not attempting to resolve why it didn't generate the form as it is supposed to. I submitted both the fed and state which she said I can do, although the instructions say I must print and send. Upon final e-file, I saved a copy of the amended return, and the 1040x pages are blank. So much for customer support. Problem is not resolved, but I'm hoping my amended return was sent properly. Who knows.
This is usually a PDF viewer issue, try the following to troubleshoot your issue:

I have the same problem, 1040x is not showing when printing amended return, just 2 blank pages. It is not an adobe viewer issue; all the other pages/forms show up fine. In a separate chain I had this response below? But is it really true that Intuit knows about it an is working on a fix, any ETC? Sound like customer support does not know about the issue.
Is anyone else not seeing form 1040X on the print preview for amended return? This is on WIndows desktop turbotax 2025
Your experience is a known issue in TurboTax and we are working to resolve it as soon as possible.
As soon as we have a resolution for you, it'll be shared on Community.
I did download a new Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and mentioned below, that then the 1040X did show up; it must only be compatible with new version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. But also generates and error "An error exist on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem."
When you are in Forms mode, go to the black banner then click File and then Print from the dropdown. On the popup, it will say that Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is recommended for viewing or printing the PDF. There will be a link to the website to download that program.
Using TurboTax 2025 Deluxe.
I had this exact same issue today, March 28, 2026. I had to file two amended federal returns, one for me and one for my daughter. Neither PDF included Form 1040-X. Instead, there were two blank pages before the revised 1040. I these blank pages were the Form 1040-X.
To get a copy of the 1040-X, I went to the print section of TurboTax and used the "Specific Forms", "Form Only" and checked the box next to Form 1040-X. I tried saving a PDF of it, but again it didn't show. Next I tried printing it, and although the print preview didn't show it, when I clicked on the printer button in the upper right corner, it brought up the normal print preview screen for my printer, and it showed the 1040-X. I was able to print it, then scan it in order to save it as a PDF file.
A lot to go through when it should have been an easy task to perform directly from TurboTax.
