I have a kid born in 2019 who was included in the 2019 tax return that I filed through turbotax. While filing the 2020 taxes I noticed that for 2019 tax return I had wrongly claimed my child as 'other dependents'. So instead of the $2000 child tax credit that I am eligible, I received just $500. Is there any way now that I can claim back that $1500 from 2019 ? Can I file an amendment on my 2019 taxes ? If yes, is there an easy way to do it without going to a tax consultant ?

Yes, you can file an amendment easily with TurboTax by using the links below for your 2019 tax return.
How to amend (change or correct) a return already filed (and accepted at the IRS)
I am trying to amend my 2019 tax return through turbo tax (yes, I filed the original also through turbotax). I am unable to find where exactly to make the change that will make my daughter eligible for child tax credit rather than credit for other dependents. In the final filed document I can see a tick against child credit for my 2020 filing but against other dependents in my 2019 filing. My 2020 income (105K) was less that my 2019 income (150K), could this be the reason ? is the $2000 child credit dependent on income ? See below. This is how it appears in final filed document. But while amending the 2019 tax in turbotax I am not sure where exactly I need to edit to change my 2019 claim from other dependents to child tax credit.
You need to verify the dependent information you entered for your daughter on the 2019 tax return.
If using the TurboTax online editions to amend the 2019 tax return, click on My Info on the left side of the screen
If using the TurboTax desktop editions installed on your personal computer to amend the 2019 tax return, click on Personal Info
Edit the dependent -
Verify that you selected the dependent as Your Child
Verify that you selected that the dependent lived with you for the Whole Year and was a US citizen
Verify the date of birth for the dependent with date entered in the format mm/dd/yyyy (she MUST be under the age of 17 in 2019)
If all the information for the dependent is correct and you are not seeing the child tax credit on the Form 1040, then delete the dependent and re-enter.
Hi,
I did complete the 2019 tax amendment works in turbo tax and saved the PDF. Few questions
1) I see I have a federal refund due of $1500 but no dues with state. Should I be still sending separate filings to both state and federal ?
2) I was asked to check direct deposit as 'no' for refund. How will the refund be credited ? Will this be send as a check. If yes, to which address ?
Regards

Question 1: You do not need to file an amended return for your state. State returns mostly pick up from the AGI. The credits on your federal return come after the AGI. If you are amending for a child tax credit or dependent care credit no amendment is required for your State.
Question 2: If you have checked NO to direct deposit, then you will receive a check and it will be mailed to whatever address is on your return.
