Why is SBTPG holding refunds?

After much research I want to know why SBTPG is holding refunds? This is not ok, and I want to know why Turbo Tax is not doing a thing about it? I will never use Turbo Tax or any other tax preparer that goes through SBTPG again. This is from SBTPG's website
"TPG does not hold your money. When a deposit is received from the IRS, your money is processed as soon as it received and typically issued within 24 hours of receipt. If you selected direct deposit, it may take 1-2 business days to reach your bank account. Your payment is not wired to your account."

They do not hold the refund. It cannot be funded until the IRS sends the refund over.

Have you gotten a direct deposit date from the Where's My Refund website?

How can you say they aren't holding our funds when they personally told me they have had my money since FEBRUARY 25th and have NOT sent me anything yet! By the way, it's March 18th if you cant tell! Almost a month of them having MY money is the truth and only fact I have heard from SBTPG and TurboTax! Why are you guys (not you specifically but the company you work for) not doing anything about this! It's your "good" reputation that got all these people to trust you and SBTPG and now we are being ignored and stolen from! Please just help us because they are your partners. You will lose so much money next year due to everyone being afraid this will happen again. You guys may be happy this year... But you guys are a yearly service! And don't forget the main point, you guys are a service and without lots of customers you can really take a hit! I truly hope they shut this website down after next year! Very very bad business practice! Maybe H & R or Jackson Hewitt will hire all of you after your jobless!

2 people on this Facebook group I am in have shown pictures of theirs so i know of 2 people that have gotten their checks. I was told last Friday and yesterday that mine was mailed, but I also had horrible service on my phone last Friday so maybe I misheard the lady... Had perfect service yesterday and the lady said clearly, *it is showing here that yours was printed today (3/18) and when it shows that it means it's mailed as well. So yes ma'am your check was printed AND mailed today." I will be calling back today to verify that another rep will see and say the same thing and if so I'm just gonna wait for it bc it's coming!

One of the girls that I seen her check on the FB group said the envelope itself showed a date of March 8th (Tues), check showed the date March 4th (Fri), and she received it on March 11th (Fri). I truly believe hers WAS printed the 4th, mailed out on the 8th, and of course received the 11th. So I'm assuming mine will be about the same. It was printed yesterday (18th) mailed out by Tues (22nd) and I will have it possibly Friday (25th). I am gonna hope and pray to get it sooner. I truly hope many more people get theirs this week. Good luck to us both.

SBTPG is the worst bank I have ever seen. My refund was rejected because There was one wrong digit in my account number. SBTPG is holding my refund and said they couldn't give me an estimated time they are sending me a cashiers check because they aren't sending cashiers checks yet because THEIR system is messed up. Meanwhile my life is messed up because they wont give me my money! I have used Turbo Tax for YEARS, but NEVER AGAIN!

I’m pretty sure they lied about direct deposit because mine was suppose to be refunded via direct deposit and when I called it said it was coming as a check and when I asked why they said because they no direct deposit information was sent. I then called them out on the lie because as we spoke I was looking at my refund status on SBTPG website and it showed the last few digits of my banking info proving they had it. They then said they had no idea then that’s just what was written in the system.

its funny how turbo tax can just pass it off everything off to a bank they use... but wont help their customers get their money... come on turbo you guys better do something about sbtpg... we paid for your service... stop turning your heads on us once you get your money

SBTPG is really something.

I personally know I gave the wrong routing number (my fault) -

I reached out to the bank with that routing number and they assured me it wouldn't be applied to anybody's account (PHEW!).

I stumbled upon the portal for SBTPG and saw that they sent my funds direct deposit (makes sense) - For 3 weeks there hasn't been an update stating it was sent back. Kinda weird

I submitted a Help ticket on 02/17 - Followed up on 02/22 - Got a response that said " requesting a trace"

It is now 03/01/22 ... No update and i've followed up several times.

I finally gave them a call today - After being on hold for 1 hour and 47 minutes I try to explain the situation, but as soon as I said TURBO TAX - They said please hold as i transfer you to turbo tax........ ...... 45 minutes of annoying piano music later (wait time is now a total of 2 hours and 35 minutes) and it disconnects one me....

This is so much fun! I almost know for a fact they are just playing games.

My State refund was already sent back to the state finance department and they've mailed a check.

I'm on hold again I better avoid the words TURBO TAX in an hour and a half or so when I finally get connected to someone.

SBTPG’s info they post is a LIE. TPG was funded with my refund on 2/18/22. As of today, 3/1/22, I still haven’t received it. After days on hold I was able to speak with 3 different TPG reps. All 3 said they can’t help me because they don’t see a “hold” on my refund, it wasn’t held for verification, they show it was sent to me on 2/23/22. It wasn’t. My bank stated that not one deposit has tried to hit my account from TPG. They lied about sending it. And before anyone asks, yes, I verified that my correct banking info is on file with them. I asked the TPG reps to trace my refund. They said they can’t help me until 3/4/22! By the time I call back on the 4th, TPG will of had my refund for 15 DAYS. That is NOT what they advertise nor what Intuit or TT advertise. And I’m pretty sure it’s illegal to sit on someone’s Federal Refund and not issue it. There is absolutely no excuse for this. I called TT 2 times. Both times the reps didn’t even know what TPG is. And both said they can’t help me. Even after I explained how beyond difficult it even is to get a live person at TPG. I will NEVER do business with TT again, and I’ll make sure TT & TPG never get to touch another penny of my money. Next stop is filing a formal complaints with various agencies for illegally holding a Federal Refund. I never want what I’m going through to happen to someone else. For them to continue posting this false information about TPG, that they release the same day, just confirms that TT and TPG are shady. People are counting on this money. NO ONE should have to beg and fight for money that is theirs.

My tax return hit my bank account today after waiting over a month after filing, only for it to be $318 short. Wish me luck trying to get ahold of someone to get it resolved 😕😕 Been using TurboTax since I was 16 but this is definitely my last year. I’ll come back to this post with any updates, hopefully to help someone else having this problem. @SForrestLO

So they sent my money to civista bank and now it's pretty much in limbo lol. No contact from SBTPG or civista which appears to be the same bank. Says on my return they sent it to civista in Sandusky according to the IRS. They gave me an account and routing number but when I call them they can't tell me anything bc they say they it's through SBTPG.... YAY

That is a lie they do hold funds the confirmed they received my money from the irs on 02/18/22 the sent a direct deposit to my bank on02/23/2022! I have the conversation recorded! Then it went to wrong account number and was sent back to them on 02/24/2022 and they still have not released my fund in check format and today is 03/06/22 they said it would take 48 hours once my funds were returned they took additional money out of my return without my consent! I called on 03/04/22 they Apologized and said it would be mailed that day and it still has not! They are liars and Turbo Tax should be ashamed! I am never using turbo tax again

you all know what is going on!

you cant keep telling us to call IRS and SBTPG its all a back and forth game! its very frustrating it makes me feel very unease that my bank and SS information is out there to a whole other company that supposedly you don't know nothing about! don't you think that is a problem!!!

IRS says they sent what they were supposed to, SBTPG took out 1200 and now turbo tax has no idea who they are, WTF!!!! this is ridiculous definitely NEVER using Turbo tax again!!!

Scam artists! Never will file with TurboTax again warning everyone I know too. They will hold your refund for unusual activity and not do anything to verify your identity. They won't even talk to me now because I filed a complaint with the BBB and they are NOT A CREDITED with them. Pathetic. About to get a lawyer involved this should be illegal they're straight fraudulent. Turbo tax doesn't give a d@MN either because they can't even contact them apparently due to security reasons. PATHETIC

They're definitely holding refunds. My refund was supposed to deposit to my bank acct, which was closed. Since I chose to pay my fees out of my federal return it went back to the SBTPG bank. My check was returned the same day & every time I check the website, call the both the automated line & speak w/customer service they are unable to say when my check will be mailed to me. They won't even give a time frame on how long it usually takes. What type of financial institution can't provide a date for when your funds will be sent/available? This is very suspicious.
