I got a text message saying my taxes are approved, according to TurboTax website, my taxes are approved and the refund is on it's way.
If I check the status of my refund in the IRS site, it's pending, not even approved.
I don't know what to think.
I’m glad to hear some of you are getting it straightened out. Wish I could say the same. Unfortunately “experts “ don’t know what they are talking about so I’ll be calling IRS today to try and figure what the problem is. Turbo lost a 7 years customer over this and I have a feeling I’m not alone
@Mrb11 @I never was a customer until this year but I will be going back to the one I used to use. Turbo tax is not it. And I’m not sure why mines is being held up because I have no foreign assets
First rule ... never file before the IRS starts processing (not just accepting test returns) to avoid this very situation. Program updates happen a LOT in the beginning so if you file too early your return may not be accepted or be stuck in pending until they can figure out how to fix the disconnect.
In my professional program there are updates of some kind almost daily but if a critical one happens between the time I start a return and go to file the return I am prompted to put it thru diagnostics again. This may not change the return on the face but it will fix any underlying issues that could cause problems.
I think most of us can understand there being some bumps in the road or kinks to work out. I think everyone in these forums has been about as patient as anyone could ask us to be.
However, we are now 11 days into this from the day the IRS started processing returns. It’s beyond unacceptable at this point. Nowhere else could anyone charge someone $130 or more for a service and get away with putting people on hold for up to 11 days and counting. People would have already gotten a refund and taken their business elsewhere. Meanwhile, we are all held hostage here to the pending purgatory we are stuck in and without refund or the ability to take our business somewhere else. It’s simply not good business and people deserve more than this after the year of hell we have all been thru.
I agree filing before the IRS is accepting returns isn’t a good idea. That’s why I waited until 2/12 to eFile. Even waiting I was in limbo for 9 days, until 2/19, because of the Form 1116 issue. Nothing changed between my 2/12 and 2/19 forms, yet the latter was accepted in less than an hour, so it’s unclear what the issue was - or where (evidently TT).
@Moore256 mine is screwed up because of some software issue and my charitable donations. IRS doesn’t even acknowledge that I filed. Turbo tax is a joke and not one “expert” has helped me. I’m just as much of an expert as these guys
I wonder if this is also my issue... If so, let me fix it!! If they're able to resolve the 1116 issue surely they must've identified how to fix this too by now?
Filed both federal and state on the 12th and still pending! What’s going on?
Still pending
From 1/8 to 1/22 still pending and don’t have any foreign assets. Simple return with no acceptance or rejected email as of yet. Tt care to explain
It's been six days of pending for me and like many no foreign assets. You'd think they'd have it fixed by now or certainly inform us. Probably last year using TT.
I have always used and referred people to turbo tax. No longer though, after pending twice for over a week and some software error, I used credit karma and instantly accepted. There's no need to wait on turbo to fix or reject it, at worst you will get the same error I got saying you already filed. What a waste of time. My parents did taxes for over thirty years btw, I'm no noob.
@Afnuke Will that not leave you with two returns or multiple returns filed? I’ve thought of doing that but was afraid it would mess things up even more.
Filed Feb 15th and still says Pending for Federal and state (Feb 22). No follow up emails from TurboTax. Requesting help! @GabiU
