My federal just got accepted finally! Still waiting on state. At least something is happening.
Im dealing with the same issue
How long did it take to get rejected? I’m almost at the 72 hour mark.
I filed on Friday they rejected me today.

Same
Thank you! I’m wondering if I’ll be rejected and that’s why it’s taking so long.
My federal got accepted within mins after filing its my state that is pending. And this was on friday 1/31
It is very common for there to be a lag between federal and state acceptance.
When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say that your return was submitted. The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected. If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.
Im aware but i never had to wait more than 72 hours for it to be accepted or rejected.
So after two hours on the phone with TT with no real answers my return was rejected. I fixed the issue and resubmitted then my return was accepted within 20 minutes. Just sad that I had to waste so much time, when this all could’ve been handled last week.
Bravo for TT!!! They made pisst off a big percent of their long term customers for not be truthful and upfront. The issue with the EV cars it was most of the problems holding people tax return to just see that the problem is with the IRS clean vehicle records. Spend another 30 minutes reviewing again the tax return, removed the ^&%^&% clean vehicle form, re-submitted, and guess what?!?!
2 minutes later it was accepted by the IRS.
Why not let the customers decide what to do???? In my case my EV car is not showing on the IRS database, so I have to chase back the dealership, convince them to provide me the documentation, then call the IRS provide them with the evidence and obviusly wait whatever time they want to include the car in the clean vehicle database. Guess what? I removed the clean vehicle form, forget about the $4k credit, I will not hold my entire tax refund because of something that I may not even able to resolve. This is a lesson learned for everybody else buying an EV car. Make sure YOU make the dealership REDUCE those tax credit at the moment of the car transaction and forget about with that with the IRS, I am sure this will bring a long tail because probably dealership had been telling the customers to claim those EV credits but behind scenes their dealership had been claiming those credits on their behalf.
But why TT made this decision of holding my tax return for me and not just tell me upfront that was the issue since the beginning. the next day of submittal if they tell me I will just REMOVE the %$% car from the tax return and just give that up on my mind as a loss and a dealership scam. But that decision it should be the customer. A lot of frustration, a lot of mad customers for nothing. I expend yesterday a lot of time filling the tax return in the CashApp Taxes app and I had it ready for submittal if TT didn't resolved today.
Same I bought two EV vehicles and had to remove them to be accepted so I lost out on over 8000 dollars.
@vicki112681 yeah, me too, but imagine, after 1 yr of bought the car, call the dealership, to convince them, to then call the IRS which we know that could take days for them to answer and to just TRY that they accept the car into their database. I mean, that's why now are making the dealerships reduce the price upfront if the customer want it that way. But here the point is that TT knew the whole issue since DAY 1 and they were just lying to their customers. If they tell me this the 1st day, I will still do the same, remove the car, and let that sink on my mind, and move on because I know right now there is probably a mess with the end of these credits, so I can decide to make the life easier of all parts, giving up my credits.
Lying to customers, hiding information, giving half-truth never works, instead make companies fill in in case studies of colleges textbooks of "How not to do X/Y", or "How X/Y company did Z/W and suddenly lost their main customer base".
@JNG123_ in my case over 6 days or 144hrs+. If you have an EV car that you are claiming the credits, be ready to give them up in order to be able to resubmit the tax return.
@vicki112681 totally unfair to their customers. Poor TT employees having to lie about the whole issue because TT management just decided to do so.
