From the IRS:
@Justin8612 Why hold returns with EIC?
https://www.eitc.irs.gov/tax-preparer-toolkit/frequently-asked-questions/fraud/fraud
@Acanex Wow! Tell us how you really feel about working poor families lol Thankfully someone is having kids because the rich certainly aren't.
Not telling you how I personally feel. Giving you the facts and the reason for PATH, which has been in effect since 2015, when Obama was President.
@xmasbaby0 That was not directed at you but @Acanex.
First:
The 21 days is an estimate that DOES NOT account for weekends and holidays. So, that's gonna run you more like 28-30 actual calendar days.
Second:
It'll hit when it hits.
Code 846 is the code for a refund being approved. Mine processed today for payment 02/24. Hopefully with TT 5 day payment, I get it today!!
Incorrect. This Monday being the holiday, we won't get the first round until Wednesday. And that's if your bank processes it immediately.
Ok u can say that without the all caps on the do not that’s kinda extra
@Dog231 lol randomly commenting on a forum with nothing relating to the issue in question is kinda extra. Js.
To avoid being you:
If you don't have an updated status on the refund tool, login to IRS online account and check your payments transcripts. That's how I figured my deposit issuance date. You can create an account if you don't already have one.
My thghts exactly what's the point TT shld not be allowed to do this ..
Thank you for this! I did not even realize this was an option. I was able to login and see my refund has been approved and it even gave me the date it should be deposited.
I always file early with tt, however, I check the last 2 years when the deposit hit my account was both times 5 days before where's my refund even updated...2024 deposit hit account Friday Feb 9, 2024, where my refund said it's will deposit refund by Wednesday Feb 15, 2024.. It didn't show approved until the day after I had already got the refund deposited... I have CTC and EIC both years...I believe most early filers this year will find deposits in their account as early as the 18th, even before WMR shows approved... My return was accepted this year Jan 19th...
Mine too girl!
The narrative in 2025 is bullpoop. The PATH Act is several years old but didn't affect EITC / ACTC claimants last year, or the year before, or ever until now. IRS and US government, stop telling lies and blaming opposing political administration policies for your own harsh impositions on the American people. Phooey!
