Actually friend, the 570 code reflects an issue with your return and the 971 code means the IRS sent you out a notice concerning the issue and giving you an opportunity to correct it.
Filling early does not increase chance of getting audit.. waiting to file later puts you behind everyone else that files early. Example I filled early according to transcripts I am already processed. So I will get refund shortly after path lifts. Anyone filling after today will just start the 21 day processing windows
There isn't a 31-day processing window,
Anyone filing shortly before, on or after the date when the PATH act "holds" are lifted, can expect their refunds within the normal timeframe, which is typically less than 21 days.
No, you are wrong. You need to read carefully & for comprehension. The IRS says refunds will be completed BY March 3rd not ON March 3rd. The first wave of eitc related refunds should go out the 18th.
Per the PATH act the irs cannot release eitc or ACTC related refunds before mid February, that would be the 15th. The 15th is a Saturday, normally it would be the following Monday the 17th but that's a Federal holiday so no ach transfers so you'll have to wait till Tuesday the 18th for the 1st eitc refunds to be issued.
Again, learn to i read. The eitc refunds are BY March 3, not ON march 3. They start Feb 18, backlog completed by 3/3.
First I do know how to read and I looked on there website and it said by march 3rd u don’t have to be an **bleep** dude
BY March 3 doesn't mean ON March 3. Eitc refunds will start 2/18. ( Tuesday is the first open business day from the middle of February as Monday is a federal holiday therefore no ACH fund transfers).
FROM THE IRS:
This would have been nice to know before filing, TurboTax still let us file knowing this and some of us opted to pay for filing using the return money costing us extra money for the fees. If we had known we may have held off and paid the fee out right, nice job turbo tax. Will not be using again after years of using this service.
One thing I learned a long time ago is that the money the government has sits in interest accruing accounts. This means that the longer they sit there the more money it generates for them. So it is not in there best interest to approve refunds and process them swiftly as it costs them the interest. Why do you think they release the refunds in waves?
Another thing to remember is this. Your refund is what you overpaid the government by. So think about this. Every time you get paid, a percentage of your money goes to the IRS. You are giving them an interest-free loan that they get to collect interest on over the course of the year. "Then" they may nor may not give you back this money depending on if someone else decides they have a claim to it, garnishments etc. And it gets better. Your money isnt even your money but community money. So imagine that you make $90k a year and your refund for this year is $100 after they determine your taxable income, but your coworker "Baby Factory" makes $25k and gets close to $13,000 for having 4 young children, unmarried. You are in a sense paying child support for children that arent even your own. Welcome to America. EIC is just another excuse they can use to hold onto that money longer and its us taxpayers that are paying for it. Not the rich
@Lm86 @I've claimed the EITC and ACTC every single year since 2009, and since "The PATH act" was signed into law in 2015, I've had to wait until Feb. 15th for the IRS to even begin processing my return. Every single year since then. If you've never experienced this normal delay before, you couldn't have actually claimed those credits. fyi: The earliest I've received my tax refund since 2015 was Feb. 21st.
IRS should update by the 22nd. I talk to a rep at IRS and from my understanding we won’t get our taxes back by March 3. So if I’m correct it should be 5 days before the 3rd
This does not make sense that the IRS would delay the returns on PATH if all returns were submitted honestly and accurately. Some of us take care of our children.
no date even yet? why not
