No, still never got my tax refund. Mine still shows “still processing”. I filed 3/15/2020. I also haven’t gotten any letters from the IRS as to why it is delayed. But, when it said my info was wrong, that only lasted like a day. Then it was working again. During that time I called the automated refund hotline number and it still gave me the information of “your return is still being processed.”
The Get My Payment application will return "Payment Status Not Available" for several reasons, including:
We update Get My Payment data once per day, overnight so there is no need to check more often. If you are eligible for a payment and have provided your information either through a recent tax return or the Non-Filers: Enter Payment Info Here application, please check back for updates.
I was never talking about the stimulus! Was talking about tax refund. And the where’s my refund site. Idk how it turned into stimulus discussion. I filed and haven’t received my refund yet though I filed 3/15/2020. I did get my stimulus w/o issue even though my tax return says “still processing.”
The IRS target is 21 days from the tax return being Accepted to issue a tax refund. It is NOT a Guarantee
Did you e-file your tax return and was it accepted?
Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.
You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large Orange button labeled "Transmit my returns now".
After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.
Note - Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund. Only the taxpayer listed on the tax return can obtain the status of a tax refund or a tax return.
To check the status of an e-filed return, open up your desktop product or log into your TurboTax Online Account. You can find your status within the TurboTax product.
If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899433-how-do-i-track-my-state-refund
After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.
See this IRS website for federal tax refund FAQ's - https://www.irs.gov/refunds/tax-season-refund-frequently-asked-questions
If over 21 days since being Accepted by the IRS and the tax refund is still Processing you can call the IRS and speak with an IRS agent concerning your tax refund.
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 4 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.
Thanks for cutting and pasting info from the irs website. Yes my return was sent and accepted the same day (3/15/20). I have already gotten my state return. No federal return. My federal return was held up for months last year due to manual review. I finally got it about the end of June. I was hoping to not have to do the same thing AGAIN. I have a simple return. One W2, I’ve worked the same job for over 5 years. Nothing new. No marriage, no babies, ect. I have heard a lot of people’s returns being late. Yes, it has been more than 21 days. I haven’t gotten any letters from the IRS as to why my refund is being held. I can not call as their call centers are closed due to covid19.
Sorry ... but until the IRS opens the phone lines there is nothing you can do but wait.
today I checked my refund status on the sight and now it says my information is incorrect, ive been checking this now since Feb 21. I filed on Feb 1 it was accepted. Now what?
It finally worked for me SS with dashes, Birthday using their calendar, Address in all CAPS for drive I enter DR
Zip code XXXXX-XXXX ,but what I really think made the difference was getting a Transcript for 2018 and like everybody else here the number IRS had was different then what turbotax had. I always owe IRS every year so they never had my direct deposit info. So after all this it worked Good luck! I came back to post this because I learned from reading other post listed here.
Sometimes the return not found is a good thing ... as the return travels thru the processing "path" it will go missing from time to time as it is in between stops ... just check again in a couple of days as the IRS gets back up to speed after the furloughs. Worrying will not make the process go faster... practice patience.
Why does the irs.gov keep saying my confirmation does not match that they sent to my email address
If you are talking about the GET MY PAYMENT tool you must enter the address EXACTLY as it is written on the form 1040 ... do not enter the APT section ...
I mailed my tax return in on Feb 12th an havent hurd anything back for my return what do I do?

The IRS is not processing paper tax returns at this time.
See this IRS website - https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-operations-during-covid-19-mission-critical-functions-continue
The IRS is not currently able to process individual paper tax returns. If you already have filed via paper but it has not yet been processed, do not file a second tax return or write to the IRS to inquire about the status of your return or your economic impact payment. Paper returns will be processed once processing centers are able to reopen.
I’m having a similar issue to the one you stated here. My return was accepted on 4/24/20 and I’ve been able to check my status and was told it was pending. All of a sudden the last two days my info is incorrect. How long did you continue to have this problem? And is it now resolved? Please help
