What if my credit karma money account is closed? Can i still get my tax advance sent to my savings ?

They sent it out February 27th and I called [phone number removed] it asks if you are calling about ur taxes and then u will enter the info they ask for and it will tell u where ur money is and just to be sure I confirmed it all with a customer service representative

I can’t get threw to them it’s making me put a card number and I don’t have one from green dot. I tried to enter my ssn but nothing :(

This happened to me. Credit Karma says "I don't see any deposits to your account" I asked how anything can be deposited into a closed account and they say "maybe we will send it to you in a check" the next time I called it was "maybe we will transfer it to your save account" the next time was "maybe it goes to your external bank account" I said NO the IRS shows that you didn't reject the deposit, it was received into the account that shows closed on my end but on your end is obviously still opened. "oh it takes up to 21 days to receive the deposit from the IRS" I again told them no, that it doesn't take 21 days for an ach transaction to go through once it is initiated from the IRS.  They told me I had to call IRS and get a trace id number. IRS said no, we are going to file against them and make them return the money. At this point I don't think I'll ever get my return because Credit Karma is clearly stealing money from so many people. IRS told me it could take up to 6 weeks for them to hear back from Credit Karma. With Turbo Tax making Credit Karma a main factor in tax returns, this is a major issue.

Have you figured anything out?  Same happened to me. I did the refund advance. Then 2 days before deposit was to be made they closed my account for NO REASON.  Now I’m lost on my refund. They probably just stole all my money!

Not as of yet only hope was I contacted credit karma today and they told me a check was issudd on the 27th and I should receive in 7-10 business days

I called Intuit directly and asked and they confirmed a check was being issued. It was issued on 02/24 but I haven’t received it. They better pray I get it or else I’m suing Turbo Tax and Credit Karma. This is the most BS I’ve ever dealt with and I’ve been filing with Turbo Tax for 12 years. Never again.

Sometimes a tax refund is not able to be deposited into an account for various reasons. If the account is closed or the wrong direct deposit information is on the tax form, or the person's name is different from their account, the financial institution will refused those funds and the IRS has to then mail a check to the recipient. This is common practice if those things happen, but a paper check is always then mailed.

@KatrinaLO  problem is this isn’t anything that has to do with the irs this is strictly between credit karma and turbo tax… this isn’t a situation we’re the IRS is at All mailing a check because this is CREDIT KARMA closing accounts for no reason out of no where..  to anyone that had a similar situation as I did the CIVISTA BANK/GREENDOT / whatever other dbas they may have are the ones that will be issuing the check once the CREDIT KARMA account has been closed and a customer has gotten an advance…

I can’t believe everyone’s responses to this issue. I have been going round and round with the people at credit karma. They have literally told me the same thing. I said your tell me you don’t see a deposit yet you’re telling me that a check will be mailed. I said which is it. IRS website shows it was deposited on 2/23/23 and yet you magically closed my account without my knowledge. I am not get through to anyone for any help.
