Do you see 2017 in your account?  Did you efile it?  Maybe it Rejected.  What does it say for 2017?  Accepted or Rejected or Printed, Started, etc.

Why would you take my payment if it was rejected?

The payment for the Turbo Tax fees?  In the Online versions the fees are to prepare the return whether you efile or print and mail.  You have to pay before you file.  Filing is free and included.  After you pay you had to continue on to the very end and submit the return by clicking the big Transmit Returns Now button. Did you finish filing?

If you didn't efile you can print it out and mail it now.

Also check your old emails.  When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile.

Your records show that I should have received a refund.  All the buttons were pushed and payments made.  I don't understand what happened.  I would like to speak with someone on the phone.

So how do I solve my problem?  My 2017 taxes were not filed because of your program.

What happened to my 2017 taxes the federal government never received them?

You need to print and mail 2017 now.  When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS received the return.  Don’t forget state.

Important!  Mail Federal and State in separate envelopes and mail each year in separate envelopes.

If you are getting a refund, there is not a penalty for filing past the deadline.  You have 3 years to file for a refund.  If you owe taxes, the interest/penalties will be calculated by the IRS based on how much you owe and when they receive your return and payment. The IRS will bill you for this; it will not be calculated by TurboTax.
