TurboTax suddenly shows my return as not efiled, but IRS confirms they have it

I filed my return from TurboTax on 10/14/2021.  I received the email confirmation the same day.  I open the app up to get the updated status.  When I opened it, it said my current status was to "Check efile status".  I clicked there, and suddenly it said that I had not efiled my return and that I was too late to do so.

This seems to be some kind of bug.  I have the email confirmation, and I logged into the IRS website and they show the return as "received".

Are you using the Online version or the Desktop program?

For Online, you might have another account.

It's common to end up with multiple accounts. First LOG OUT of whatever TurboTax account you're logged into right now. Then use this TurboTax account recovery website to get a list of user ID's for an email address. Run the tool against any email addresses you may have used

For Desktop ,

For the Desktop program you have to check the filing status inside the program. Open your return and go up to menu item

File > Electronic Filing > Check Electronic Filing Status

Then save your return with the status. Go to File-Save.

Hello.  It is the Desktop program.  It won't allow me to check efile status because it says I haven't filed the return.  However, when I first log back in after a few days it said the return status was "Check efiling".  I also have the email where it was accepted and the IRS says it was accepted.

Maybe you don't have the right return open in the program.  See if you have any other returns.  Go up to FILE-OPEN and see if any others show up.

Only one file 2020 file on my drive.

It may take a few days to update.   I kind of remember there might be a problem with the filing status shown in the Desktop program.    I would call in and see if there is a problem.

I efiled the tax. I get an email message and sms it is rejected - I don't know why? This has happened first time for me.

But when I go to my turbotax - it says it is not filled? What is happening!!!

If you filed your return and it got rejected by the IRS, it would show as not being filed.

Please follow the instructions in the TurboTax FAQ below on how to fix and resubmit your rejected return: How do I fix a rejected return?

TurboTax suddenly shows my return as not efiled, but IRS confirms they have it

I am the user the started this thread.  When I filed my return via TurboTax last year, it was accepted but then suddenly disappeared from the application. The IRS received and processed and paid my refund.  But TurboTax still shows that it was not e-filed.

But, I am not sure if you are replying to me or other commenters.

I haven't filed yet this year, which is not a problem because  I live outside the US.
