Same! Mine was accepted 2/10. I called first thing this morning and the agent I spoke with put a referral into the error department because it's been more than 10 weeks. She said that the error department should have looked at it already, but it wasn't even touched. I'm so frustrated. So now they have 30 days to issue the refund or send me correspondence.
Mine was accepted the same day. It is still in the errors department. They told me it would be at least another 6 weeks, and according to her, it wouldn’t qualify for interest. I’m sure they’ll find some way around the interest payments. I doubt they even have funding to issue our refunds.
Same exact thing, except they told me 60 days and not 30. Can someone confirm when the IRS will start owing interest on late refunds? I've seen the number being 45 days, but I do not know whether that is 45 days from when you filed or 45 days after April 15 (June 30).
Call back. Specifically ask for error code. Depending on code, you can look it up. File a referral to have it expedited. Per the irs, they don’t know there is a problem until you keep contacting them. File a SAMS case too
45 days after due date-June 30th!
Keep calling for error code, ask for a referral to have it expedited.
File a SAMS report if you haven’t already. I just sent another email to SAMS. The rep wouldn’t give me my error code, but I plan on calling every day until my status changes or something in my transcript changes. This is complete BS. Everyone here is just getting the runaround.
I filed a SAMS a while ago and basically was told they know there is an issue with the home energy credit delays and they are working on it :(
I had filed a SAMS already - I was basically told that they are aware there is an issue with solar credit delays and they are working on it :(
I am having the same issue. I filed first week of February with solar credit. Now it’s April 23rd and still in accepted status.
Good morning,
For the OP and subsequent folks who replied, have you seen/received any additional updates or notifications?
For reference, my return was accepted on 2/12, and after three weeks, I called and IRS personnel informed me that it could take up to 10 weeks (target date 4/22). IRS status checks on the website and app reflect "still processing."
Thank you.
Ours was accepted February 10. We followed up yesterday as instructed to do so at 10 weeks and got transferred to someone who expedited our return after an hour wait time. We were told it could take 1-30 days to receive our refund and to continue checking the Where’s My Refund app. We’ve called them on numerous occasions and filed the SAMS as well. All I can say is keep calling.
Hello! I filed for the solar credit. Told the same thing as others. I filed a report in their SAMS and did receive a response that they are working with the IRS with resolving the issue with the Form 5695. It is a system problem with this form. Not sure how they will resolve it or when, but it has been over 10 weeks for me.
I called today. I was told my 10 wk waiting period isn't end 02/25 so I have to call back Friday :/. The person I spoke with was very hard to understand and didn't understand me well. She said I had to call back in 2 days, it's just an error on thier end. I asked for the error code and she said there was no error code and confirmed no letter has been sent to me for further documentation but that they are behind on processing returns from the pandemic? Not sure how the pandemic can be blamed for this but ok, I told her I was aware the solar credit was causing delayed and she said no it wasnt and to call back Friday they will review my case and I'll have to wait another 6 wks for completion. Seems we should all be told the same thing but we are all getting different timelines and stories.
I was also accepted on 2–12. I called them as they had given me the date of 4-22 for my 10 weeks. The lady I spoke with said that they work in weeks and that I would have to wait until my 10th weeks was done before they could do anything. But it appears even when this time is up they say they put in a referral and have 30-60 (depending on different posts) to respond.
