Did you ever get this resolved? I never got my second stimulus payment and the IRS says they sent it to Turbo Tax but that money never made it to me. I’m wondering how many others have the same problem?
I did not get my second $600 stimulus. I did receive the first $1200 stimulus. How do i file for a credit for 2nd stimulus?
You have to file a 2020 return to get any missing stimulus payments #1 or #2. Have you filed yet?
When you go through the federal review tab it will ask how much you got if any. Or to enter your stimulus payment in TurboTax, type "stimulus" (without the quotes) in the Search box, then click the link that says "Jump to stimulus." Say no to the amounts it shows you. Then 2 boxes will open up for each round. If you didn't get one enter a 0 in the box.
After you have entered your tax information and are ready for the Federal Review, it will be the first question.
If you are trying to trigger it, you can go to Other Situations, answer any questions and click Done. The next automatic selection is Federal Review and it will ask about payments received.
The Recovery rebate credit is on 1040 line 30. It either adds to your refund or reduces a tax due.
thank you. i can understand you. I will try your way.
First time filing with TT and I did receive my third stimulus. And I cannot get any information from no one to why I have not received IRS say no information found I’m well under the requirements to qualify. . I can’t get any answer from TT if they received it not sent back out to me .
Turbo Tax does not send refunds. It comes from the IRS. They are backlogged and the IRS Refund Lookup is delayed and doesn't work right. If you efiled and Turbo Tax says it was Accepted you just have to keep waiting.
You can double check your efile status here
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile.
When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc. What does it say?
IRS accept my 2020 return as I’m reading comments look like TT client is missing stimulus money that they qualify for . Since they have flow thru bank . But will we receive our money ? And when ?
How do I get information on my 3 stimulus check if I have not received it ? When you cannot talk to IRS
I need to file a 1040x form
Once your original return is accepted and the finances are settled, you can file an amended return.

I keep seeing the same instructions over and over and they don't work. I can only guess the instructions are for the PC/MAC software and not the online TurboTax, since it refers to "TABs".
I don't qualify for Stimulus #3. I did qualify for #1 and #2 because I made substantially lower than in 2020. I files 2019 late, so I didn't receive the #2 check, but I am owned it. The online Turbo Tax asked absolutely no questions about the stimulus checks and doesn't seem to have any way to change Line 30 of the 1040 form. All the answers say it will ask the questions in the review if it thiinks you're eligible. It didn't ask about my 2018 taxes nor my 2019 taxes, so how could it come to any conclusions about my eligibility and that I received all my checks???
Turbo Tax GUARANTEES the maximum return--but I can't enter the data that I have more credits. And I know from experience that the IRS will not give you refunds you deserve UNLESS you ask for them explicitly.
I tried calling the help number with a case # and it said press 9 for English--which I thought was unusual. Everything from that point was in a foreign language. Sounded like Spanish to me.
@royalef The Recovery rebate credit is really based on your 2020 income. What is your 2020 AGI? I can't tell if it was less or more than 2019.
The first two rounds of Economic Impact Payments were advance payments of the 2020 Recovery Rebate Credit.
So if you do not qualify for the Recovery Rebate Credit because of your 2020 tax situation then you will not be able to get the missed stimulus payment.
See question 1 Eligibility
https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/recovery-rebate-credit-topic-b-eligibility
The eligibility requirements are the same for the Recovery Rebate Credit as they were for the Economic Impact Payments exceptthat the credit eligibility and the credit amount are based on your 2020 tax year information.
Sounds like your 2020 income is too high.
If you did not get prompted to enter your stimulus information, that means you either:
To get to the stimulus questions in TurboTax at any time, you can search for stimulus and use the Jump to link. Generally, if you have adjusted gross income up to $75,000 for individuals and up to $150,000 for married couples filing joint returns and surviving spouses, you will receive the full amount of the recovery rebate. For filers with income above those amounts, the payment amount is reduced.
I still have not received anything for my second stimulus check. IRS trace report stated it was sent to Turbo tax. I was not able to file it on my taxes. It was rejected, stating it was already sent. Are there any other options?
No stimulus checks were sent "to TurboTax." TurboTax never receives your stimulus checks or your tax refunds. TT does not even have any way to know if your stimulus was issued. If you previously had used the refund processing to have TurboTax fees deducted from a federal refund then your money may have gone through the third party bank that handles refund processing.
Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, LLC (SBTPG) is the bank that handles the Refund Processing Service when you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your refund. This option also has an additional charge from the bank that processes the transaction.
You can contact them SBTPG, toll-free, at 1-877-908-7228 or go to their secure website www.sbtpg.com

The 2nd stimulus check was sent out in late 2020 or very early 2021. The only way to get that stimulus money now is by filing a 2020 tax return and using the recovery rebate credit to get the $600 stimulus. It will show up on line 30 of your Form 1040. Check you 2020 line 30 if you already filed a 2020 return--if there is an amount there, then you already received it as part of your 2020 tax refund.
Or.....check your online account with the IRS. If the IRS shows that the 2nd stimulus was sent to you and you did not receive it then you can have it traced by the IRS.
And.....this may not apply to you....but....there are people who have become so confused by the stimulus checks and the recovery rebate credits that they do not even know or remember which checks or deposits they received. The recovery rebate credits for 2020 and 2021 tax returns have demonstrated that many people just do not even know what was sent to them.
The first EIP --or stimulus check--- was issued in 2020 It was for $1200 for adults and $500 for a dependent under the age of 17. The IRS used information from either your 2019 or 2020 tax return to issue those checks so they could send them out in a hurry.
The 2nd EIP or stimulus was issued in late 2020 or early 2021 and was $600 for adults and $600 for dependents under age 17.
If you did not receive the 1st and/or 2nd stimulus check you can get it by filing a 2020 tax return and using the recovery rebate credit in Federal Review. It will end up on line 30 of a 2020 tax return and will be added to your refund (or reduce your tax due).
The 3rd EIP--or stimulus check-- was sent out in mid-March or later in 2021 and was for $1400 per person--adults and dependents no age limit.
If you did not get the 3rd EIP payment you can get it by filing a 2021 tax return and using the recovery rebate credit in Federal Review. The credit will go on line 30 of your Form 1040 and will add to your refund (or reduce your tax due).

If you need to trace a payment that the IRS says has been issued to you, mail or fax a completed IRS Form 3911, Taxpayer Statement Regarding Refund.
