Refund Advance- credit karma closed account

I just sent an hour on chat with credit karma.OMG it's a freaking train wreck.i screen shot everything .My refund went to the closed account (the account that was closed the day I filed my return) after finally being allowed to open a new one I was assured my return would go to the new account because they couldn't open the old one again.i had no fees or any penalty for the account that was closed .tonight I was told that I might repeat I MIGHT GET A PAPER CHECK IN 5-8 DAYS .bull**bleep** I said that is not acceptable .you can't just take tax payers money and move it around and do as you wish .I told him there is O reason why my funds can't be moved to the new account or open old one.i am pissed beyond thinking paying turbo tax over 200$ for what ? I am trying to find. Way to make this go to the news it needs to hit the t.v

I am going through the same thing. I was able to talk to a live agent but since my taxes hit that closed account no one at credit karma answer the calls now, I am going to look into taking legal action and I am not using TurboTax anymore

That's a bunch of crap credit karma don't notify you of closing your account by email, I never received anything from them and TurboTax should be able to let customers know too because they're linked all together and should want to keep they're clients happy to keep using they're software instead of losing clients because of credit karma, and TurboTax and Credit Karma wonder why they stay having lawsuits

They closed my account right after I got the advance this year and I was finally able to open a new account with them but I was upset because my refund was going to be sent to a closed account well I got an email last night saying my refund was deposited in my account but when I look there is nothing so I’m like great it was sent to the closed one! I get on there this morning to chat with credit karma and my refund was put in my save account on my new account made not the one they closed! So it worked out I do hope you get yours also! I was for sure expecting a check at that point

Same thing happened to me. I was minding my business and last week I was sent out an email saying that my account was locked and 3 minutes later saying that my account was deactivated. I called several times and I upload my drivers license and social. They reactivated my credit karma account only and left my money spend account frozen. When I notified them that my taxes was hitting the account the next day (2/22/24), they completely closed my credit karma money spend account. I just find that strange. I called several other times and they lied like they couldn’t see my refund, it wasn’t there, told me my taxes was sent to a closed account but they see it pending…. I mean, I've heard all kinds of excuses all but when they’ll mail my check out saying that I have to wait on an email from the higher department. I don’t believe there is one because it’s been 10 days, going on 11 days and I have not heard anything back. Banks or whoever are suppose to notify you first before closing out anything. They failed to do that and still can’t give me a reason as to why my account was closed. I still don’t have my money right until this day. IRS said to wait 5 days to see if I hear anything then they will issue me out a check.

I was told that credit karma been stealing folks money. This is why they can’t give us any information and doing so much lying. I can’t get her ahold of a supervisor. They are all in it together. I was using my account. Let’s see if they mail my check out.

So you got an email stating that your account was coded, then re-opened and your funds are now available? They won’t re-open my money spend account and didn’t give me any explanation as to why it was closed. They keep saying I have to wait on an email from the higher department because they are the ones who will issue the check but they do not know when. The irs told me that if i didn’t receive my deposit in 5 days after my approved date, to call them back and they can issue me a check.

***update*** after many hours on cats and phone calls CreditKarma deposited my refund into the newly created spend account. Life would have been so much less stressful had they communicated properly from the onset. I hope the rest of you have a similar outcome. Good luck everyone!
