This seems to be a problem for turbotax and NOT the IRS. I filed my taxes and now i owe interest, have penalties, return looks like i may or may not be married throwing everything off. Almost everything on my return that says i owe are not even mine but my boyfriend's of 20 years, old 10 year old paid off loans, ect. Its a mess with the IRS now that will take months to resolve for the both of us. No chance of stimulus for me since my box was checked to can be a dependent when in fact i never checked it. Did i mention i went to fill out the amend forms because i was freaking out since i didn't even know how much i owed, (still don't!) I didn't file them though but was prompted to upgrade at the end in order to file them at all. I never wanted to upgrade so that is where i stopped. I've got the upgrade. $60.00 worth. I've requested a refund. Will turbotax be able to clean up this mess I've got going on here???

What was your filing status? You didn't file married did you? If not legally married your filing status can only be single (or possibly head of household if you have a dependent relative like a child, living with you who you support).
There is no way your boy friends situation can affect your tax at all of the BF is not on your tax return.
Your BF might be your dependent if his total income for the year was less than $4,200, he lived with you the entire year and you paid more than half of his total support for the year, but again, a dependents situation cannot affect your tax.
Some of your statements make no sense. Your return cannot be ambivalent about whether you filed as married or not. Your filing choices are near the top of the Form 1040. Which one is checked? Single, Married Filing Jointly, Married Filing Separately, Head of Household, or Qualifying Widow(er)?
Is the box for being claimed as someone else's dependent checked?
And why or how would anything about your BF's debts be on your tax return? Did you and your BF get confused and did one of you use the wrong account for your 2019 return? If you used your BF's online account and transferred HIS 2018 data into your 2019 return, that could explain your issues--or some of them ...maybe.
We cannot see your screen, your tax return or your account. No one in the user forum has the ability to clean up the mess on your return--which sounds like a combination of several user errors.
Since you upgraded to try and sort this out, you should call in to customer support to have a live conversation to help you sort out what you did and how to fix it by amending.
To call TurboTax customer support

They are available from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday - Friday Pacific time.
Are you looking in the wrong account? You should each have your own account. Do you?
First LOG OUT of whatever TurboTax account you're logged into right now. Then use this TurboTax account recovery website to get a list of user ID's for an email address. Run the tool against any email addresses you may have used

You should print out a copy of the returns for each of you and see what was actually filed. You might need to get transcripts from the IRS too.
How to get a copy after filing
Or here's an alternate way to print by opening the filed return back up to print at the Print Center, where you can also get the worksheets.
Log in and at the Tax Home or in the section Your Tax Returns & Documents for 2019, look for a link Add a State. Click on Add a State. (you don't really add one. That's just to open your return back up.)
After the return is open, click in the left menu column on TAX TOOLS, then PRINT CENTER.
Then choose Print, save, view this year's return.
The next screen should offer some options: Just my tax returns or include government worksheets (optional), or include government and TurboTax worksheets (optional.)o
There is no accounts or his name on here anywhere. He has claimed me in previous years so I'm thinking thats how it happened maybe? I really don't know. Its pretty weird that its old stuff thats been paid off for years though. Possible fraud there with the person that did his taxes by making me responsible and just leaving it sit? Since i have not filed in quite some time.
On another note, since my amended returns were efiled, do i still need to print and mail them? I did not file state by the way, as far as i know its not neccessary?
Most of this has been resolved. I have always filed single. I was his dependent but he was never mine. I never checked the box for this past year to file as a dependent but it was in fact checked on my original return before it was amended. The ammended return does not have the box checked but I'm still researching what everything means or stands for due to the upcoming stimulus which looks to me like its on there. Whatever the little star above the graph staying "depend" may mean I'm back to square one on that. There isn't anything to be resolved about that as far as i know. It looks like once you mark yourself as either one it stays put until the following year.
TT is a DIY program where you are either expected to understand the screens and/or tax forms OR educate yourself by reading all the blue Learn More links. You both probably should sit down with a local tax pro and get these things explained to you so you understand what is happening and why you believe you owe and if that is true how to adjust your withholdings so this doesn't surprise you again in the future.
Going forward ... you may want to wait for the IRS FREE FILE options to come online mid January so you can file the fed & state for free. This year if your AGI was $69K or less then there were 10 free options to choose from...
