Same here. Even if you're not eligible it should still show up. I've called and they told me once I go past that it would pop up, but it still hasn't. I think it's a glitch in their website.
I am having this same issue. I called into TurboTax and the CSE Shawn I spoke with said that in order to get the advance, I will have to wait to file on Monday the 27th when the IRS opens. They also spoke with a manager and they said the same thing.
The requirements are:
You will not be eligible for the loan if: (1) your physical address is not included on your federal tax return, (2) your physical address is located outside of the United States or a US territory, is a PO box or is a prison address, (3) your physical address is in one of the following states: IL, CT, or NC, (4) you are less than 18 years old, (5) the tax return filed is on behalf of a deceased person, (6) you are filing certain IRS Forms (1310, 4852, 4684, 4868, 1040SS, 1040PR, 1040X, 8888, or 8862), (7) your expected refund amount is less than $500, or (8) you did not receive Forms W-2 or 1099-R or you are not reporting income on Sched C. Additional requirements: You must (a) e-file your federal tax return with TurboTax and (b) currently have or open a Credit Karma Money™ Spend (checking) account.
I check all the boxes. I will be waiting until Monday but I swear if it’s the same bs I will be rethinking doing business with Turbo in the future. I hope this helps though
I will try on the 27 let’s hope it works or I will be filing elsewhere.
Samething happened to me. I checked the criteria and I qualify. However, I was not given the option to apply. I know some people recieved the option but was not allowed to apply because it kept looking them back to beginning. Base on what I have seen, alot of people are having this issue. I also read where some people create a new account and was able to apply for it.
I've been having this same issue. I've been filing through TurboTax for 10 years and used the refund advance last year. I have an active credit karma bank account as well. My credit score is higher as well as income for 2024 yesterday, I spent 4 hours on the phone with TurboTax. The representative stated its possibly a glitch and they'll investigate then contact me about it. I'm really trying to hold off before I switch tax sites
I’m having the same problem. I made over 15k more than I did last year. I wasn’t even employed for the entire year last year. Please update us if something changes for you.
This is happening to me tool. It is not giving me the option when I go to file. I tried to call yesterday and neither of the two representatives could tell me why or help correct the problem. I am able to get the advance every single year and even if I was ineligible, I should still have the option to apply. I have been using turbo tax for almost 20 years! I'm beyond irritated at this point. Someone needs to get on top of fixing this asap or they are going to lose a lot of customers. If I cant get the advance then I will file somewhere else and skip The $200 in fees
Its funny they told you this because the guy i spoke to yesterday said that shouldn't matter.
I was also not given the option. I think it's fairly dishonest to market it and then when someone completes their filing reveal that the option is not available.
I actually requested a refund because I got charged but never finished filing because of it and they denied me my refund…I’m done with TurboTax…they are saying they have no control over it…It’s more for new clients…I’m NOT happy!!!
Is there a way to cancel everything after you submit and transmit to the IRS?

No. Once a tax return has been filed it cannot be changed, canceled or retrieved
No I didn’t finish it through…So my taxes are literally sitting in limbo because I didn’t follow through. I had the expectation that the Advance would pop up but it made me pay first. There wasn’t a way to skip it to get through to see about the Advance. Now if I go somewhere else I lose the 80 bucks I already paid..
This is 100% exactly what happened to me. We are in the same situation. There's no advance option, they already charged me to file and customer support does/knows nothing. I even tried to make a new account just to see if it'd give me the option because other people said that it's the only way, guess what? No advance option on the new account either lolol. TurboTax has dropped the ball this year and I guess theres no other choice but to file one last time with them. I'm sorry for your disappointment also, I'm taking the loss because it's been driving me nuts for a week straight and I can't take it anymore. I'm finishing my filing and never using them again come following years.
