The Recovery Rebate Credit (for the first and second stimulus on line 30) will be included in the total refund shown on line 34 of Form 1040.
Please be aware, the IRS is currently taking longer to process returns because they are backlogged. You can track your refund at the IRS Where's My Refund? site.
Please see What if my IRS refund is taking longer than 21 days? for additional information.
The third round of Economic Impact Payments will be based on the taxpayer's latest processed tax return from either 2020 or 2019. If the IRS has received and processed a taxpayer's 2020 return, the agency will instead make the calculation based on that return. Please check IRS Get My Payment for status details.
Use H&R next time everyone i know who did already got theres. It seems people who filed in Feb are just screwed on accepted mine was Feb 15 still on Accepted today exactly 2 months later. Turbo tax is useless with question after signing up and filing.
Most people I know that filed with TT have also gotten theirs. I’m not sure what’s holding so many up vs others. I’ve used TT for 15 years and never an issue.
How do I make sure the documents I uploaded for my taxes i.e a 1099 unemployment form and healthcare form were sent? Last year I had a issue with the health care form and TurboTax. I want to make sure it is not an issue this year.
@GatorNici81 You can print out your tax return and review the forms to insure that the information you entered is listed on the tax forms and schedules. The supporting schedules such as 1099 forms do not get transferred with your tax return, only the tax forms/schedules and information you input.
Turbo states accepted march 20, 2021
no refund as of 1/13/2022
Find my refund IRS website states: "[sorry no record of your return.blah blah]"
Double and triple checked ALL data (date, FED refund amount, bank acct/routing, soc, et al)
I'm on here cuz it is my daughter's return ($4099 refund) from LAST YEAR...
I doubt anything "held it up." 1040, one w-2, EIC $386, no house/mort/interest, simple-dimple
what now? i'm at work. she is not exactly book smart. i can't waste any more time on this
(>5hours since yesterday)
much obliged to anyone.
tbh, i just wanna USPS certify mail it. computers didn't mesh? whatever?
IRS deleted it after accepting it?
printed it out and it fell in a trash can?
I'm lost...
TurboTax does not get any information at all from the IRS after you file your tax return. No one at TurboTax knows what the IRS is doing with your return.
There have been a lot of delays for 2020 federal refunds. Did you mail your return or e-file?
If you mailed it:
MAILED RETURNS
If you mail a tax return (or a payment) to the IRS, it is a good idea to use a mailing service that will track it like UPS or certified mail so you will know it was received.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.
TurboTax will not know anything about your mailed return, and will continue to show “Ready to Mail” on your account. TurboTax will not know that you put your tax return in an envelope and took it to a mailbox. TurboTax does not get updates on mailed (or e-filed) returns.
The IRS refund site is only showing information about 2021 refunds now so it will not show anything about your 2020 refund.
Or......
Did you e-file? Did you click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”
When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say that your return was submitted. The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected. If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.
Does your TT account say that your return was accepted? Or does it say something else—like “rejected”, “printed” or “ready to mail?” If it does not say accepted then it was not filed unless you put it in an envelope yourself and mailed it.
TurboTax does not mail your tax return for you.
If your e-file was accepted:

Champ? I believe. Thanks for your time and efforts.'
State and Fed returns were e-filed by TT
TT tax is like "stuck" on accepted. It never changed over to approved.
If it was accepted, wouldn't it exist on FindMyRefund 10months later?
That is my quandry.
I see your replies.
I will tell dot to phone and follow your instructions of buttons to press... I guess.
She received the emails all stated "accepted"
No fees to TT, it was a free, simple e-file
TurboTax never changes from "accepted" to "approved." TurboTax gets no information from the IRS or the state after you file. TT never knows what the IRS does with your tax return after it has been accepted. The IRS (or state) is your only source of information after you file.
what does that nean
@Mara7979 To boil it down----after you file your tax return you will not get any information from TurboTax about it. TurboTax does not get updates from the IRS. You have to track your own refund on the IRS site.
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2021 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

From what I read once they receive it they typicaly will be approved within 48 hrs sometimes it takes longer if there was a mistake, also it takes longer if they believe you may have unpaid debt that they can garnish from your return child support ect.
Please know that is the IRS that has to approve your return, not Turbo Tax. It varies, but normally it takes 24-48 hours. Also, the identity-protection safeguards implemented by the IRS in recent years may account for longer wait times. Eventually, you will receive an email letting you know whether or not your return has been accepted or rejected. TurboTax FAQ "What does Pending mean? "states, "Pending simply means that your e-filed return is on its way and that the government hasn't accepted or rejected it yet.
If you contact the government or try to look up your refund status while your return is still pending, don't be surprised if they tell you "no record found." This is normal; until the government starts reviewing and processing your return, they won't have any record of it."
Accepted means received for processing, which is normally within 48 hours after you efile. The IRS goal for Approval is 21 days.
