According to a tax law change, the IRS cannot issue refunds before February 15 for tax returns that claim the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit. This applies to the entire refund, even the portion not associated with these credits.
Mine says the same thing
At TurboTax we have no way of finding out specific information about the processing of an individual tax return once it's been transmitted to the government (Accepted). Even though the IRS issues 9 out of 10 tax refunds within 21 days, it's possible your return may require additional review and take longer to process.
If your tax return status shows it is processing/review, the government reviews your refund.
During the review process, they look for math errors on your return (extremely rare in TurboTax) and they also check if you owe back taxes, unpaid child support, or other debts. Once that part's done, the government approves your refund, which means it's ready to be deposited or sent. At that point the IRS site will update with a direct deposit date.
The general timeline of e-filed returns is: Processing > Approval > Refund.
Continue to check Where’s My Federal Refund?. The IRS usually updates daily, usually overnight.

@JakailaLO @Cass0317 What if I owe taxes from 3 years ago but my tax refund is a lot more than what I owe? Will I still get the remaining amount of my refund? How long does it usually take the irs to approve a refund if owed taxes
When the IRS makes adjustments, it is referred to as a refund offset. You should receive a letter in the mail with an explanation. The remainder of your refund will be processed as usual. An offset shouldn't delay it unless your entire refund was applied to your debt.
Please refer to the following article for more information on a refund offset.
More information about refund offsets, including contact info and the appeals process, is available in
I filed my taxes 1/31 the blue line is finished, and was accepted on 2/1and all I keep reading is accepted, when would I see approved, it’s been pass 21 days.
There could be a few reasons why your refund is taking longer than 21 days. The IRS is taking more than 21 days (and up to 90 to 120 days) to issue refunds for tax returns with the Recovery Rebate Credit, Earned Income Tax Credit and Additional Child Tax Credit.
For more information on this, please see the Help Article here.
I was wondering the same thing. I filed as of 1/27 and still aint been approved. Accepted but not approved

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2021 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
