I received the same letter. Did you ever hear back from TurboTax?
@valpine1 TurboTax cannot help you with verifying your identity. You have to do that for yourself.
I HAVE TO VERIFY MY IDENTITY
https://www.irs.gov/identity-theft-fraud-scams/identity-verification-for-irs-letter-recipients
Never heard back from anyone but you guys on here.
Um. Kinda verified my IDENTITY MYSELF ALREADY WITH THEM. But thanks. Yeah.
All I need is either an explanation as to whether I’m getting my refund as TURBOTax stated that I WOULD BE GETTING SEVERAL MONTHS AGO or not. Plain and simple.
I trusted TurboTax with my taxes and IRS ACCEPTED it in APRIL!!! Come on?
I have called every number to be placed in a loop. I’m done with that. So before you “clap back” with something whimsical. Think. It’s been since April. I know that you’ve been busy. However, you could call or write. Just saying.
Just a friendly reminder. People care but need their money.
This is just a public user forum and we can't tell you anything. Even Turbo Tax can't tell you about your refund. Only the IRS can tell you.
Accepted does not mean Approved.
Accepted only means the IRS verified some basic info on it so they know it's really from you. After it is Accepted the IRS processes it then approves it before they send the refund.
After Turbo Tax sends your return they are done with their part. Now it's up to the IRS to process and Approve it. It has nothing to do with Turbo Tax. Millions and millions of people are still waiting for the IRS.

You are the FIRST person that said anything with an explanation. Thank you.
@valpine1 You have to reply back to the IRS. Unfortunately there was no way for me to get through. Every-time I called the main IRS number it was redirected. I call my local IRS office to make an appointment in person and the auto voice message would hang up. I literally gave up at that point and within two weeks I get an email saying my tax finally processed after months later. I say try to do the steps above and if you can't get through unfortunately you just have to sit back and wait.. it's unfortunate what's going on and it sucks we have no control over these events..
It is truly out of our hands, huh? This is madness. I’ve tried everything, my guy. It’s so hard waiting and not knowing. I’m like hella pissed.
Like I stated above, no one tells you anything (like you will until the rapture). The IRS will not be available for your calls and concerns. The website is designed to develop anger during COVID & flu season. (Because we don’t have enough going on like cancer -a survivor).
@Misssdb I looked back at your other posts. In your first post from several months ago in late June you mention that your address has changed and you missed getting a letter from the IRS. Have you sent in a change of address to the IRS?
CHANGE OF ADDRESS

Are you seeing any messages on the IRS refund site? If the IRS sent you a 5071C letter to verify your identity you need to take care of that....but it seems you do not know what the missing letter was about.
There are a lot of delays for 2020 refunds. TurboTax does not ever get any information from the IRS after you file your return, so no one at TT would know about a letter sent to you by the IRS.
To call the IRS:IRS: 800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Mon-Fri
Listen to each menu before making the selection.
First choose your language. Press 1 for English.
Then do NOT choose the first choice re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
Instead, press 2 for "personal income tax".
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions." It should then transfer you to an agent.
TAX ADVOCATE
At the following IRS website, find the USA map and click on your state, and it will give you the number of your area's IRS Taxpayer Advocate.

Thank you, for of all!
I’ve exhausted all of these resources. I’ve tried calling. Sending in a letter. To no avail. No one responds. It’s like it’s an empty building (which I know it’s not). I get updates from my USPS showing what’s coming. It showed a letter from IRS (check). But it never never made it to me.
Interesting ... I also have the post office coming attractions emails and they had my ballot coming but it didn't show up until the day before the election 3 weeks later so they do make mistakes at the local office level.
They have to put a trace on it.
How to put a trace on a missing 1st or 2nd Stimulus payment. IRS for Payment Issued but Lost, Stolen, Destroyed or Not Received
See question F3 here, you can expand it to see how to put a trace on it.
Rc’d letter fr IRS about RRC on 2020 return. Have no idea what this is. Can not reach IRS after trying several days. What does this letter mean?
