After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.
See this IRS website for federal tax refund FAQ's - https://www.irs.gov/refunds/tax-season-refund-frequently-asked-questions
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 4 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.
So, I e filed my return Jan 3rd 2020. It is now August 16, 2020 and it still says Tax Topic 152 on my refund status. I obviously cant get ahold of anyone. What gives?

In the future do not be in such a hurry to file your tax return. The IRS does not start accepting any type of tax return until late January of each tax year. File your return in February or March.

Yeah your right about that part. 152. I see it each year. No problem. But now when i just check i dont see the yellow lines. It just words what do that mean?
You posted here to a very old thread. Would you please clarify your question? What are the words that you see?
Thats not 152 perhaps 151 but not 152. 152 is given to people who have been accepted and refund is being processed. It's information about the process of getting your refund. They do mention situations where your refund may go under further review but that is not what topic 152 stands for . i think u have mistaken it for 151.
Mine is the same. My bar disappeared yesterday and i just have still processing and topic 152. This happened last yr and when i switched to check it in my computer the bar was there. But im worried because seem like so many ppl are getting their refunds and i was in the first batch.i filed jan 21st and accepted on feb 10th. I paid extra on on the plan i picked to file my taxes so i hope nothing is wrong
Most refunds are received within 21 days of your return being accepted by the IRS. If it has been more than 21 days, please see: What if my IRS refund is taking longer than 21 days?
To learn more about Tax Topic 152, please see the following information from the IRS: Topic No. 152 Refund Information
I’m on the same boat I’m getting nervous my taxes have never taken this long. People who filed the same day as me have gotten theirs.
While it is understandable that refunds are being delayed and people are receiving new IRS notices and notifications, Tax Topic 152 doesn't indicate that there is anything wrong with your return. Even if there were, you are backed by TurboTax's accuracy guarantee. Here is information about it from the IRS website:
Refund Timing
The IRS issues more than 9 out of 10 refunds in the normal time frame: less than 21 days. However, it’s possible that some tax returns may require further review and could take longer.
IRS representatives can research the status of your return only if:

You can also refer to Topic No. 303 for a checklist of common errors made when preparing your tax return and for additional items that may delay the processing of your return.
Tax Topic 152: We (possibly made an error)
that will need a further look. They(IRS employees) usually fixed the errors within 10-14 days(after their 21 days period....,then additional 14 days). After then call them for more information. (If you did not already received a letter yet in the mail).
