I need to amend my state tax return for a state tax credit I didn't become aware of until after filing. It doesn't affect federal at all. How can I amend ONLY state?

Yes, I found this information as well. Unfortunately I could never figure out the riddle to answer the questions in a manner to be able to get to the option to pick only the state return. Every option I chose forced me through the federal menus. As my tax credit is state specific and affects nothing federally I don't want or need to amend or otherwise touch anything related to federal but I can't get "the technology" to cooperate.

Then just complete the federal amended return without changing anything.  The program will take you to the state return so that you can amend the state.

In the File section of the program when you are finished you can designate which tax return needs to be filed.

Yes, you can amend your state return only.

Here's how to do that in TurboTax Online:

1. Sign in to your TurboTax account.
2. Select Add State.
3. Select State Taxes, then Your State Returns.
4. Select Edit to the right of  your state.
5. On the screen, Your 2023 (Name) taxes are ready for us to check, select Edit to the right of Other situations.
6. Select Start to the right of Amend a Tax Return.
7. Follow the on-screen directions to complete your state amendment.
