I got a letter yesterday dated 8/12 saying it will be another 4-6 weeks. If we still have to wait then what's the use in having turbo tax take almost 200.00 out of my account to file. They got paid for nothing and they didn't wait for my refund likes that said, they drafted it from my account and overdrew it.
When you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund you signed an agreement that said TT could take its fees from your account if it took too long for the IRS to issue your refund. You could avoid that by paying TurboTax upfront with a credit card when you file and then you would also avoid the extra refund processing fee of $39.99 ($44.99 in CA
TURBOTAX TOOK MONEY OUT OF MY BANK ACCOUNT
Did you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund? Is your refund taking an unusually long time to arrive? if so, you signed an agreement that says TT can withdraw its fees from your account. TurboTax would have sent several emails to you before they took the money out of your account.

What if my IRS refund is taking longer than 21 days? - TurboTax Support Video
Hi. My name is Lestina. Can you tell me what you did because it's been 5 weeks since my Verification and I still have not seen any of my tax money. And I just lost my job, so I could really use the extra help.
Is it true that the longer we wait is the same as if the irs and that the money will accrue interest?
Yes, depending on the timeframe. The IRS paid out so much in interest last year due to the delays in sending out refunds. By law, the IRS usually has to pay interest when it sends taxpayers refunds 45 days or later after the tax filing deadline.
Not sure why irs have you verifying your identity on such a simple return just to make you wait on hold for hours to say your name and verify amount of Agi and refund amount then after all that you wait 9 weeks. Not sure if it’s a protection against fraud but def an inconvenience
I HAVE TO VERIFY MY IDENTITY
Sometimes the IRS chooses returns randomly to request verification of identity and sometimes there is something on the return that triggers the request. No matter why the IRS has required you to verify your identity, you need to follow their instructions in order to receive your refund. If you do not verify your identity you will not get your refund.
