I got an email that my taxes were assessed what does that mean?

Did the email say assessed or did it say accepted? When you efile a tax return, the IRS either accepts it or rejects it. If it is accepted, the IRS has your tax return and has begun processing it.

TurboTax will automatically send you an email when your account has been signed into or when your return is opened. This most often occurs when you log in using a different device than you used the last time you signed in to your TurboTax account.  You can verify your account activity by following the steps in TurboTax FAQ: How can I check the activity in my TurboTax account?

Also....IF you simply download a copy of your own tax file...they send out that email.
