I stand corrected. Alabama forms are available for e file but not for print until 2/23. My aplogies.
E-file forms are in XML format (an electronic data format that contains only tag names and data but no lines and boxes and shading). This format is not intended to to be read by people but by software. PDF, as you know, has lines and boxes and shading, and is intended to be read by people.
The processes by which XML tax forms and PDF tax forms are created are completely different, as are the approval methods (each state must approve both type of forms before the state accepts the forms).
So, although this seems odd, it is certainly possible for XML forms to be approved (i.e., e-file) and PDF forms to not be approved (i.e., print). We appreciate your patience.
I am not e-filing my state return and need to know when will I be able to print it to mail?
Please see this Turbo Tax help article.
Why can't I print out my forms?
@Grmothergg
In spite of what the turbo tax specialist said, I was able to file my Alabama return and it was accepted however there are no forms uploaded to print. When will they be available. Happens every year.
you can e-file - just can't print a copy. Happens every year for Alabama and Turbo Tax
Link below doesn't work
This is an old post, and it’s not clear what you need to know.
You might look at the TurboTax Help articles How do I print a copy of my tax return in TurboTax? and Why can't I print out my forms? to see if they’re of any help.
I have the exact same problem as previously described - "South Carolina return currently unavailable to view, print or download because certain forms are missing". I contacted the South Carolina Department of Revenue this morning; they confirmed that all their forms are available for filing individual returns. I can only conclude that TurboTax has not yet updated their systems. I spent 4+ hours on the phone with TurboTax 2 days ago to no avail.
Try closing TurboTax, clear your Cache and Cookies if you are using TurboTax Online, and reopen TurboTax. You can also try a different browser.
Also, make sure you have ran all updates.
If you are using TurboTax Desktop, check for updates under the Online Tab.
I am having the same issue with South Carolina. I have installed all updates. I don't want to submit anything until I can review because I don't feel that things are calculating correctly.

Are you having that problem with the 2024 taxes? I was having the issue last year. I had hoped that they cleared up that problem. Haven't done the 2024 taxes yet.
nope 2023.
I am having the exact same issue, also South Carolina.
Cannot print state returns.
Turbotax 2023 WinPerRelease [phone number removed]
Error Message: "Your South Carolina return(s) is currently unavailable to view, print or download because some of the forms haven't been finalized yet."
Also there is a link: Notify me when my Forms are ready (Link to page that asks email address and confirm, then says "Unable to load messagid No forms or products have been specified. Please close the window and try again. for en_US". In short, the process to provide notification IS BROKEN. ALSO, I would suggest providing a link to the forms availability tool on this page.
Also, after checking the Forms Availability tool at SC State Forms Availability , I find that the ONLY form not yet ready for print is the "Individual Declaration of Estimated Tax" and this form has a 2024-03-07 date. This form does not apply to me and if it did, I wouldn't use it since I'm e-filing.
At this point, I guess I'll wait another nearly two weeks to see if I can print my forms, though I will not use the ONE form still unavailable.
Thank you.
