Mine said the same thing. My federal is over $6000 and it said I was approved for $1500 now on the app it says $500. I don't even know if we are supposed to get an email about it or what
@Daviscol81 You will receive an email when you are approved for the Refund Advance. The email will tell you the amount of your advance and you will receive a temporary card. Green Dot determines the amount loan equal to a portion of your anticipated refund in one of ten amounts.
Please review the amounts and more details below.
About Refund Advance - TurboTax
I checked my emails and found an email saying enjoy your new turbo card and it was to finish setting up my account for the turbo card. Is that the same as the advance card? When I finished setting it up it also showed me my temporary card info and routing and account numbers. Whether I get approved for the advance or not will my return be going on the card they had me set up that they emailed me about?
@Daviscol81 Yes, your remaining federal and entire state refund (minus any agreed upon fees) will be deposited to your Turbo Card when the IRS or state tax authorities distribute your refund (usually within 21 days from IRS acceptance).
Please see the TurboTax FAQ's below for more information about the Refund Advance, temporary card and the Turbo® Visa® Debit Card:
This advance is ridiculous. It said my advance of $1500 would be available when my return was accepted then I get an email it was denied and no way to get ahold of someone to find out why seeing I'm getting a huge amount back I shouldn't have been denied. I'll be back to using h&r block next year
@Daviscol81 The reason for this is, if you selected to receive a Refund Advance, once your return is accepted, it will go through a final review by the lender. You will then be notified of the status. You will not receive a final decision of whether you are approved for the loan until after you file your taxes.
If you don't qualify, you'll receive an email confirming you won’t receive a Refund Advance. It will include information about why you were not eligible for a Refund Advance. Your federal refund (minus any other agreed upon fees) will be loaded onto a Turbo Visa Debit Card.
