how to fix incorrect Form 1040-X

I started to amend my federal return in Deluxe.  I saved the amended file but didn't file it yet because I knew I had to make an additional change.  Today I went back and reopened the amended file and entered that additional change I knew I'd have.  I thought everything was perfect now and I got ready to file.  But, I printed out a preview copy first and saw that the 1040-X, column A, was not picking up the numbers from my original return.  It's picking up the intermediate numbers from when I started working on the amended return last week but didn't finalize it or file it then.  I need the numbers in column A of the Form 1040-X to pick up the originally filed numbers.  How can this be fixed?

Unfortunately, that previous thread that you referenced did not directly address my question, or if it somehow did, it was way too complicated.  But in the middle of the night, I figured out what to do.  I'm using Deluxe and there is an ability to switch to Forms View (as opposed to the step-by-step input view).  So I just switched to Forms View and typed in the correct information in column A of Form 1040-X.  Column B automatically recalculated.  Voila.  Problem solved.
