If you have not already e-filed or mailed your tax return you can change the bank account information, go to the "File" section to make the change:

• Login to TurboTax and go into your tax timeline, select the File tab.
• There are three steps listed. Click on Start/Revisit next to Step 2.
• You'll have the choice for in my bank for direct deposit or paper check to receive in the mail, make sure the I want my refund deposited into this account box is unchecked.
• Select direct deposit, correct the information and then click continue at the bottom.

If this question is for a second stimulus payment? You won't be able to update your bank account. The IRS will mail you a check if your account is closed and the bank rejects the funds. Please see this for more information: How will the second stimulus impact me?

Thank you, unfortunately I saw your message to late because of how confusing it was to be provided a link that was not clear. Your link took me directly to where I needed to go but it was too late.

Hey can I change my direct deposit information because I lost my phone and access to that certain bank account for over time period of 60 days .

@Usman245 if your return has already been filed and accepted, unfortunately you will not be able to change your bank account information. The FAQ below provides further details:

With that being said, If the info you provided is for a closed or invalid account, the government will mail you a refund check.

Did you already e-file?  If you did NOT e-file you can go to the FILE section and change how you want to receive your refund.  If you want direct deposit you need the routing number and your own account number.

You cannot  change banking information while your return is in pending, nor can you change it after the return is accepted.
