TurboTax may prompt you to deposit your tax refund into the same account you used last year. If so, make sure the I want my refund deposited into this account box is unchecked.
If you've already filed and your return has been accepted (or mailed), it's too late to change your bank account for direct deposit.
Otherwise, you can change you direct deposit info by following these steps:
- Go to File.
- Select Start or Revisit next to Step 2 Your refund info.
- Select Other refund options on the Get your refund up to 5 days early screen.
- Choose Direct deposit and Continue.
- Enter your bank account info and Continue.
- Your federal refund is now set up for direct deposit.
