How can I set up a payment method for my amendment

I'm trying to file an amendment to my taxes and I can't get past step 2: setting up a payment method. I enter all the information, hit continue, and it cycles back to asking me for the payment method.

There is no fee to amend your return. To amend your tax return, you will need to wait until you have received your refund, if applicable, and then amend that return to make changes. Amended returns have to be printed and mailed in and take up to 16 weeks to be processed.

If your original tax return was accepted, wait until you have received your refund or taxes due paid, then you can go here for instructions on amending your return.

How can I set up a payment method for my amendment

Cass0317,

I appreciate the information. My questions would be why does Turbo Tax walk me through all the information needed to amend my taxes then not give me an option to print off the filled out form and why doesn't it explain that the form has to be sent as a hard copy by snail mail?

If you are amending a 2020 tax return, that can be e-filed.  If you amending a return from an earlier year, then you will need to print the return and mail it.  Here are detailed amend directions.  Select the year that you wish to amend and follow the directions for that year.

Keep in mind: You have 3 years from the date you filed your return or 2 years after you paid the tax due (whichever is later) to file an amendment.
