Yes of course. But I don't think you can efile it if the original was not efiled. Why did it reject?
You should not amend until the first return has fully processed and you get the first refund or your tax due payment has cleared.

Oh, why do you need to amend? Maybe the IRS will catch it and change your return for you.
Thank you for the reply. It was rejected during e-file because a dependent had already filed without indicating that they were a dependent. We were advised to file via paper and have the IRS make the appropriate modifications to the other return. I now learned that I need to make an unrelated amendment to our return that won't affect the tax amount for this year, but needs to be recorded for future filings. I was hoping that I could do that through TurboTax so that the information is stored there to be accounted for in future years.
