You will have to try to work it out with the bank. You might need help from a lawyer.

The IRS and the bank followed your instructions and deposited your refund in the account that you designated on your tax return. They are not at fault, and they are not obligated to correct your error.

See the following page on the IRS web site, particularly the third bullet under Scenario and the fourth (last) bullet under Solution.

What should I do if I entered an incorrect routing or account number for direct deposit of my refund...

was the account number that of some other account you have at the bank then that's where it would have been deposited. if the bank account number was not valid then it should have returned the deposit to the IRS to issue you a paper check which would have been mailed to the address on the return.

the following is for a lost or stolen refund.

If your filing status is single, married filing separate, or head of household:
Call the IRS Refund Hotline at 800-829-1954 and use the automated system or speak with an IRS employee, or
Go to “Where’s My Refund?” at IRS.gov or use the IRS2Go mobile app and follow the prompts to begin a refund trace.
If your filing status is married filing jointly
You need to complete Form 3911, Taxpayer Statement Regarding Refund, and mail it to the IRS address where you would normally file a paper tax return.

Were you having any Turbo Tax fees deducted from your refund?  Then it goes through a 3rd party bank first to take the fees out.  So if your bank rejected the deposit it would send the refund back to the other bank.  So check the SBTPG bank for it.

If the IRS has released and sent your funds (check with the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool, or if you spoke to the IRS, and they told you it was sent), you can log in to SBTPG's refund lookup tool to see the status of your funds.

To log in, choose the "For taxpayers" portal at:

Just giving an update if this ever happens to anyone who has filed through TurboTax and enters in the wrong account number or routing number, I called IRS and they were completely useless they said that it was on a Green Dot card which was false but then I called TurboTax and they explained to me that if this ever happens with TurboTax and the IRS is issued to a third-party debiting company and they issue you out of check and they take a $30 fee for the fact that they had the issue you got a check but they usually send you a check in the mail within a couple of days of when they said that it was deposited so if this ever happens to anyone that's what's going to occur they're going to take $30 out of your refund additionally and then send it out to wherever the mailing address is too so thankfully I hassled my credit union but I had no idea that they were accurate it did not go there even though the IRS and their antiquated system said that it did anyway thank you everyone in the community for your input have a great day and this is a very long run-on sentence because I'm using text to talk while I'm at work

If you entered the wrong direct deposit account information, you have some options to ensure you still get your refund and the IRS can always mail you a check.

Here are some options:

  • If you haven't filed yet, you can still change your bank account info for direct deposit.
  • If the info you provided is for a closed or invalid account, the government will mail you a refund check.
  • If you entered an account number that belongs to you, but you intended to enter a different account, check Where's My Refund? to see if the return has been posted to the IRS. If it hasn't been posted yet, you can contact the IRS directly at 800-829-1040 and ask to stop the direct deposit and mail you a check.
  • If you entered a valid (but incorrect) account number that doesn't belong to you, there's usually nothing to worry about. Most banks won't deposit tax refunds into accounts where the names don't match. You can call the IRS to stop the direct deposit if your return hasn't been posted to their system yet. For security reasons, the IRS can't reroute your refund to a different account, so you’ll get your refund via a paper check.
  • If your return is rejected, you can update your account info along with the issue that caused the rejection. Open your return in TurboTax and go through the File section again to update your bank account before resubmitting your return.

We have instructions to help you find your direct deposit bank account information.

The forum security software has removed the numbers that you posted. This is a public web site that anyone can view, including scammers and identity thieves. Do not post anything that you don't want to be broadcast on the internet. You have to enter the bank information in TurboTax or follow one of the suggestions that Cynthisd66 gave you. Posting the information here does not do any good and can only cause trouble.
