I still have this as my status... after 2 months? anyone else experiencing a delay in their refunds?

Is this a indicator that I would be missing anything or audit?

Your tax return is still being processed.

A refund date will be provided when available

You may have filed then, but the IRS did not start processing until Feb 12.  It is seriously backlogged due to all the extra stimulus filings, as well as a few million unprocessed 2019 returns left over from the COVID shutdown.  Lots of other folks are still waiting, so please continue to be patient.  Also see:

year delays seem quite common.  did you report any unemployment compensation on your return or were you covered by Obamacare? The IRS may be delaying refunds for those that reported those items so it can adjust the refund for these items. it will take time for it to reprogram its computers.

Same here...accepted 2-15-2021 and still sitting in the accepted mode with no other info. Cannot call the IRS as it is so overloaded the calls do not even attempt to go through. I find it odd though that I can amend my taxes through TurboTax if I so choose....why would that option be available when the IRS has not approved or rejected mine yet? Would I have not heard right away if they did or received a letter or the status changed to that on the IRS site?

With no word from the IRS and these funds need to be utilized is there anything as a citizens I can do?

Anyone have any idea?

I remember by 2019 return took 5 months after it was accepted...

Some tax returns take longer to process than others for many reasons, including when a return:

  • Includes errors
  • Is incomplete
  • Is affected by identity theft or fraud
  • Includes a claim filed for an Earned Income Tax Credit or an Additional Child Tax Credit. See Q&A below.
  • Includes a Form 8379, Injured Spouse Allocation PDFwhich could take up to 14 weeks to process
  • Needs further review in general.

Where’s My Refund? will give you a personalized date after we process your return and approve your refund.

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  “21 days”  is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.   Many refunds are taking longer during the pandemic.  The IRS is backlogged —-they are still trying to process millions of 2019 returns; they received millions of e-filed on the day they opened for 2020 returns, and now they are burdened with sending out another round of stimulus checks.

Some delays are resulting from incorrect amounts that folks entered for stimulus checks they received.   Many people have been confused by the recovery rebate credit and completed it incorrectly.  The IRS may delay your refund while they cross-check to see what you received.  Some refunds are delayed because of the tax law changes that went into effect recently.   If your return has unemployment or the premium tax credit on it, that may be delaying it.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 34of your 2020 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

To track your state refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

Filed over 2 months ago and still no refund?

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one!  I filed my taxes electronically through TurboTax on 3/22/2021 and both federal and state were accepted that same day.  It's been over 2 months now and I still haven't received my federal refund and it says "Still Being Processed" on the IRS Refund Status check.

Anybody have any updates?  Or did any of you finally received your refunds or find there was a mistake w/ your filed taxes?

Filed over 2 months ago and still no refund?

I am in the same boat filed 3/28. Still no refund still says processing. This is crazy they are sending out all kinds of extra refunds and not processing what they have.

Filed over 2 months ago and still no refund?

Yeah this is absolutely ridiculous. Glad to see they're still getting our tax paid salaries while the everyday lower-class is struggling to just receive what is DUE to us. Then there's this BS of them being overwhelmed by the amount of stimulus they had to deal with.. It's an absolute joke because there's not a single line that you can use to get a hold of them. Processing shouldn't take this long EVER....

Will update this post if I somehow ever figure out about wtf is taking so long.

Filed over 2 months ago and still no refund?

I'm in the same boat man. This ridiculous. Is anybody here still waiting tell this day for there refund?

Filed over 2 months ago and still no refund?

Yes I am this is beyond ridiculous at this point.

Filed over 2 months ago and still no refund?

Please do because at this point I have lost hope. Then they are suppose to start sending checks in July for child tax credit. Guess I won’t see that money either till they process this. Smh this is beyond ridiculous. They should just give us our money and figure the rest out later.!!
