My daughter (24 y.o.) did her taxes back in January & did not state she was a dependent. I had read that you cannot claim a 24 y.o. as a dependent. After doing our taxes with Turbo Tax today, the software stated we could claim her since she had minimal income last year & we had paid for all her expenses. I had her amend her return to say she was a dependent. Unfortunately, we just had our e-file rejected & it stated it was because of her filing originally as not a dependent. Not sure how to fix this situation. She amended hers before we filed and it was accepted. Should we just wait a couple days & try again? Assuming Turbo Tax is correct that she can still be a dependent as a 24 y.o.

You can wait for months and it will still be rejected. You can only file by mail now. Her amended return will not change the use of her SSN in the system in time for you to e-file this year. Print, sign and date your return in ink, and mail it in.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
At 24---she can be a "qualified relative" if she had less than $4700 of income in 2023. You get the $500 credit for other dependent for claiming her.
Qualifying relative
When you add someone as a dependent, we'll ask a series of questions to make sure you can claim them. There may be other tax benefits you can get when you claim a dependent.
The IRS will not allow another tax return to be e-filed that includes the same Social Security number as a return that have already accepted. Your daughter filing an amended tax return will not change that.
You will have to print and mail your tax return claiming her as your dependent. The IRS will process your tax return as filed.
Just to confirm, I can claim a 24 y.o. child as a dependent?
Yes, you can claim a 24-year-old. When the income, relationship, and residence tests are met for an "other dependent", the age of the person doesn't matter.
For dependents that are also full-time students and under age 24, the income part is disregarded (this is where I think some confusion comes in).
Since your daughter failed to mention that she can be claimed as a dependent when she filed in January, as the others have mentioned, you will need to mail in your return for processing to claim her this year.
