E-File reject/dependent SS issue
My daughter (24 y.o.) did her taxes back in January & did not state she was a dependent. I had read that you cannot claim a 24 y.o. as a dependent. After doing our taxes with Turbo Tax today, the software stated we could claim her since she had minimal income last year & we had paid for all her expenses. I had her amend her return to say she was a dependent. Unfortunately, we just had our e-file rejected & it stated it was because of her filing originally as not a dependent. Not sure how to fix this situation. She amended hers before we filed and it was accepted. Should we just wait a couple days & try again? Assuming Turbo Tax is correct that she can still be a dependent as a 24 y.o.
