Any luck?9
Thanks for your help on entering the refund info from 20a from my 2018 tax return which for me was 0 , since i applied my refund to my 2019 taxes.
Regarding letters, the IRS site says they will be mailing out a letter to me with additional info. My son also got that message about a letter.
@craigy - this is the IRS FAQ:
a letter about the Payment will be mailed to each recipient’s last known address within 15 days after the Payment is made. The letter will provide information on how the Payment was made and how to report any failure to receive the Payment.
Any luck?
Hey! I just got mine to work after a long time getting the “records don’t match” error every single time!
You’d want to enter the address in capital and also try abbreviated. It worked for me. Mine had “East” so I had to enter in E instead, and DR for “drive” for example.
The most ridiculous thing ever but I was able to get to the screen to enter my bank info in for direct deposit.
good luck!
I’m getting past the address part. It’s the part where you enter the agi etc and it says their records don’t match. Owed in 2018, haven’t filed for 19’ yet. I’m entering my agi straight from my taxes and then what i owe to be exact. It’s still saying it doesn’t match. Not sure what to do. It’s beyond frustrating 😩
Unfortunately I think it’s different for everyone from all the posts I read on “records don’t match” issue so you might have to try multiple things. I finally got mine to work by using all caps and abbreviated for the address. No dash for SSN and used the calendar fill in option to enter DOB instead of manually typing in.
i used TurboTax to file and paid taxes DD so I think IRS has the address on records matching my address on bank check book because I even tried address on my tax return and it didn’t work
good luck!
HI @stefanih
I had the identical issue. Try entering "0" as your AGI and putting in the amount you originally owed for 2018 (1040 line 22) It worked for me for some reason.
Ok I will try that in the morning. Should i submit what I owed?
Yes, sorry...I updated my previous response...Input the amount you owed from line 22 on your 1040.
This should be the number 1 answer on here right now! I had been searching for this answer for weeks with no luck. I had a team of tax consultants I'd been working with for something else and even they were stumped. Their access to the IRS has been cut off just like the rest of us so they couldn't reach out on my behalf either. Here are the absolute musts from what I observed. You MUST put your address is exactly as it appears on your 2018 or 2019 return. Make sure you check the USPS address lookup tool to see exactly how your address appears according to the federal government. IF you filed for an extension on your return for 2018 and have still yet to file your 2019 taxes and it's giving you an error saying your information doesn't match their records, enter "0" in your AGI, BUT make sure you still enter the amount you either owed or were refunded for that same year. Lastly, make sure you have your up to date routing and account numbers. This seems obvious, but if you make several attempts you're bound to get careless with entering your account/ routing number.
Great info! I had filed for an extension in 2018 and had to enter "0" as my AGI...at least there is some consistency...
I followed these instructions exactly and it's still not working.
So ANNOYEEEDDDD
