@nolabob1949 - yes - i read the IRS is targeting the last half of April for the direct deposit into the same account where your monthly SS payment are deposited. nothing for you to do .
I got a question. I already filed but my fefund got stop cus the irs send me a letter saying that. I most provide my identity and address to confirm so I already did. I provided my info already am just watting on them. To see wat happens And I had ask. Turbo tax to to direct deposit one of my checks. In the turbo tax card. I got it. On the mail. Already and I got my job. Direct depositing my checks. To my turbo tax. So my question is. Would they. Use that. Info I got from. The turbo tax card would the irs use that info would. They use that info. To send. My stimulus check to my turbo tax card. Since they the one. That gave me that. Card and and info for direct deposit??
No one can answer your question with 100% certainty ... the IRS has posted any information on these kinds of situations ... so all you can do is wait and see.
SBTPG's website has this updated info as of today.
An IRS-issued check will be mailed to taxpayers that received a check printed from their tax professional's office or a debit card issued through Santa Barbara TPG.
Does this mean those of us who had the turbo tax card and went through them for fees will not receive our deposits until the new website becomes available for us to update our info?
How do you know if your refund went through them? I had my fees taken out too but there is no mention of Santa Barbara and my debit card is not through them. My card is through Green Dot.
Please do not send my stimulus check to the bank account I was stood and go ahead and put it on a card

If you had your 2019 (or if that's not yet filed, 2018) refund sent to a bank account, the IRS will initially try to send it to the same account; that CANNOT be changed for now. If you didn't file for either year and you get SS/RRB, it will go to the account you currently use for SS/RRB; that can't be changed either.
If that account was closed and that bank returns the payment to the IRS, you will then be put in line for a paper check; only then (assuming the IRS portal is up and running) can you enter new bank information. If you didn't get a Turbo Card with your return, I don't think you can get one just for the stimulus check; you'll have to use a bank account or third-party prepaid card for your direct deposit.
TurboTax doesn't do anything with your stimulus check, so they will not be putting your check on a card instead of the bank account you specified when you filed. The payment comes direct from the IRS to you. The IRS will use whatever bank account you entered on your tax return. If you need to change your banking information, you will have to wait until the IRS opens a portal on their web site, www.irs.gov, for you to enter new information.
Thats not what they are saying. People are saying that if you have fees taken out and the refund was processed by SBTPG, that the dd info the IRSreceived is not for you card but for a temporary deposit account. They says that turbo tax adds the dd for you onto the tax return after it’s filed. However, I have a copy of a return before I filed it and the dd info for my card is the info that’s entered. So who knows what’s going on?!
I downloaded all past tax documents and each year it states that Santa Barbara is involved. Except for this year. I wonder if this year is different because I got a refund loan.

According to SBTPG's latest update, if they are sending your money via direct deposit to a bank account (or presumably a non-SBTPG prepaid card), the IRS will send the stimulus there via direct deposit. (Not sure if SBTPG will handle the money or if either SBTPG or Intuit is providing the account info to the IRS, but either way it's getting there.)
The question is whether or not Turbo Cards are "a debit card issued through" SBTPG, which according to their announcement will result in paper checks. Though Turbo Cards are issued by Green Dot Bank, which also issues the Walmart MoneyCards SBTPG offers its non-TurboTax customers (Green Dot Corporation owns both SBTPG & Green Dot Bank), Turbo Cards are a separate deal between Intuit and Green Dot Bank. The fact that TurboTax printed your Turbo Card routing & account numbers on your 1040 suggests Intuit got those directly from Green Dot Bank, *not* SBTPG. If the Turbo Card's numbers get to the IRS (via SBTPG, TurboTax or otherwise), they'll send the money there. However, if SBTPG treats Turbo Cards like its own Walmart MoneyCards and the numbers don't go to the IRS, it will be a paper check (unless you enter them on the forthcoming IRS portal).
I had fees taken out of my return and when I look at my tax docs it has the same acct# and routing # I gave my employer to dd to the turbo card
Your refund is only processed to SBTPG if you have the fees taken out of your tax return. It won’t matter where it’s being dd, a rounding and account number directs where to send the payment. If it’s the same on your return before and after it’s filed, then it isn’t a mystery number added after you file. I think that Turbo Tax and SBTPG are only confusing people more. Also got those of you who aren’t sure if your refund was processed thru SBTPG, just type it in google and go to the site, you can enter taxpayer info there.
I know. The problem is, people are saying that the dd info isn’t entered in until after turbo tax filed your return, because of the temporary deposit account.
