When you e-file a tax return the Form 1040 is included with the electronically filed tax return, it is Not mailed to the IRS.

The IRS is far behind.  You can try contacting them for information on the return.

Do i need to post mark it ?

@arpanghosh1990 Anything you mail will have a postmark that is put there by the post office.   I think you mean ---should I use a mailing service to track it?   Yes, you should so that you know the IRS received it.  It takes months for the IRS to process a mailed return.   Unless you use a service that will track it and tell you the IRS received your return you will be waiting and wondering for months if they even received it.

Use certified mail from the post office and you will get  a receipt back that shows the return was received by the IRS.

Are you still waiting for your 2019 Refund?  If you efiled, Was it Accepted?  Maybe you didn't finish filing it or it Rejected.  When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc.  what does it say?

Then when you efile you get back 2 emails.  The first email only confirms the transmission.  The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepte.d or Rejected your efile.  Check back though your emails if you have them.

If you didn't finish Efiling or it rejected you have to print and mail prior returns now.

Then only the IRS can tell you.

TURBOTAX was supposted to have sent our 2019 return to the IRS.  However, the IRS never got the return.  I do not know WHY?  What I need now is a copy of 2019  form 1099-R for my wife and I.

Send them to our email address of record!  GBRuiz

    @gbr2u

YOU are responsible for filing your own return and making sure it was accepted for processing if you efiled  or  got to the correct office if you mailed it.   So either the return was rejected if efiled and you did not make the correction and resubmit it timely  OR   you did not mail in the return or did not mail it to the correct office.

All you can do now is print, ink sign and mail in the return and attach any forms that have withholding on them.  So if the 1099-R had withholding on it you will need to get a replacement from the issuing company or get an income transcript from the IRS since the TT program only keeps the info from the form but not a copy of the form itself even if you imported it.  Make sure to put some kind of tracking on the envelope and then be prepared to wait for months for the paper return to process ... currently they are taking much longer than 6 months.

@gbr2u No one from the user forum can email copies of your tax return or any other documents to you.   No one has access to your account.    You have to access it yourself.   As stated above, either you did not mail it correctly, or perhaps it was rejected and you did not realize it.   The only way to get that 2019 return filed now is to print it, sign it in ink, and mail it in.  You might need to get new copies of your income documents if you did not save them for your records.   Any income document like a W-2 or 1099R with tax withheld must be attached to the return when you mail it in.

If you are getting a refund there is no penalty for being late.   If you owe tax due, then your interest and penalties began over a year ago.

If you have forgotten how to access your account:

You have to access your own account and/or  print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.

Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them.  Log out of the account you are in now.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
