Mailed my tax return to fresno office in feb 2022, will IRS forward to utah office?

Hello,

I accidentally mailed my tax return to the fresno office in February 12th 2022. I didn't realize that office was now closed, will the irs mail forward my document to the utah office? should i send a new return in?

I keep checking and they have not received my documents, i am worried, I also have tried calling everyday but the IRS says hold times are too long and will not answer. I call first thing in the morning and at different times. I think they are not taking any phone calls.

There will be a delay in the processing of your return and you should continue to try to contact the IRS but do not send a new copy in.

When calling the IRS do not choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.     

• So after first choosing your language, then do not choose Option 1 (refund info). 

• Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.

• Press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".     

• Press 3 "for all other questions.

• Then press 2 "for all other questions

• When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don’t enter anything.     

• After it asks twice, you will get another menu.

• Then press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.

• It should then transfer you to an agent.
