I filed last year using INTUIT and my income tax return went directly to child support that I owed to my ex husband who just passed away in March 2017.

Legally, the obligation to pay past due child support does not die if the custodial parent dies. Your ex-husbands estate has the legal right to receive these funds. And as such, your tax refunds may continue to be redirected.

To confirm you tax refund has been marked for garnishment, call (800) 304-3107, for the US Treasury's Bureau of Fiscal Services.
