I was married in 2019, and we filed a joint return for that year. We divorced in 2022. Recently, I found out that I was also filed jointly for 2018 and 2019. However, I was not married in 2018, so I requested copies of the 2018 return from IDOR. The documents I received had no signatures. Is it possible that IDOR removed the signature before mailing the copies? I don’t remember whether I signed for 2018. Is there any way to check if I signed?
I was an international student in 2018, and I didn't work that year, so I wasn't required to file taxes. The copies that IDOR mailed me have the accountant's information, EIN number, etc., but both my ex-husband's and my signature sections are empty—no signatures, no codes—on both the IL Form and IRS page. I just want to find out if I signed for 2018 or not, so I can proceed with a solution. As an international student, I didn't know much about the U.S. tax system. Thanks in advance!

Probably not. If it was efiled and not mailed there is no actual signature on it.
E-filed tax returns do not have a physical signature. They are "signed" electronically by entering the previous year AGI.
They should not remove a signature, but if the returns were eFiled, they usually use a pin number as an electronic signature. I would contact the State DOR for more information.
Thanks everyone for the reply.
