Why are you waiting two more weeks, call them now and also direct them to this sight so they can see how many people are in the same position, there are hundreds of thousands out there that have not had their 2019 processed... they sure as hell took the payments the minute they opened the tax envelops and cased them, but as for the processing, nope thats not happening.
There is no way to get in touch with them at all! When you call they say they are to backed logged to take calls...next?
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don’t enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Then press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 4 for all other inquiries.
It should then transfer you to an agent.
Or you can contact your local IRS office. See this IRS website for local IRS offices - http://www.irs.gov/uac/Contact-Your-Local-IRS-Office-1 or call 1-844-545-5640 to set up an appointment
Or you may want to contact a Taxpayer Advocate in your area. See this IRS website for Taxpayer Advocate in your area and a toll free number - http://www.irs.gov/Advocate/Local-Taxpayer-Advocate
I have been in the same boat as many of these comments, but just had a twist I was not expecting. I mailed my return last July with a check and owed ~$8k. The check had been deposited almost immediately last July. Now today in the mail yesterday I received my 2019 payment back as a check. I checked my transcript online and it shows all zeros for my information - like they didn't get a return. I'm so confused. I've tried calling and keep getting rerouted to the automated message that drops the call.
It happened to me as well. My 2019 tax return was submitted via TurboTax EFile on 29-March-2020 and got a confirmation via TurboTax (Accepted) and Text and Email but it is not process / available if checking it online many times / many days or try to get a transcript. Call IRS agents and talked to them many days and I was not sure if they are the real ones or not because they did not know my tax returns but kept saying wait for "four to 8 weeks...", it did not help at for many calls and it is not easy to speak to IRS agents. I filed for my 2020 tax return and I was rejected because there is no my 2019 tax return from the IRS database. It is IRS caused problem to Tax Payer. I did not receive any cents from the Stimulus package as well as my refund. Not sure who I can call or writing a letter to ( I sent two letters to IRS but no response yet) Hope to get it soon. It is unclear how IRS is doing the business today. I hope someone can give a clue to resolve my tax returns for 2019 and 2020 - Thank you.
It did not work for my case in 2020 tax return because it also checked the pin number. I am not sure if I have to mail my tax return for 2019 and 2020....
Same to my case, IRS received and confirmed via TurboTax, Text and Email on 29th March 2020 for my 2019 tax return but nothing showed on online, refund status, transcript, etc. Failed to efile yesterday via TurboTax for my 2020 tax return.
If your 2019 returns have not been processed yet (millions have not) and the AGI was rejected then enter a ZERO for the AGI and efile again. If is rejected again then you will need to print, ink sign and mail in the return.
My issue is I owed for 2019..check cashed April 2020. I have refund due for 2020 and due to the IRS not recording my 2019 I had to mail again this year (2020) I sent 2019 with copies of all info and filed 2020 by mail also. The Government needs to hire temporary working or pay the the existing workers alot of $$ for overtime. I'm retired. I would love a temporary job.
Add me to the list of people whose 2019 e-file was rejected in Turbo Tax, so I sent a paper copy along with a check for the amount owed. The check was cashed but the return is still not processed. I've called many times and reached an IRS rep a few times. In January 2021 one told me he found my return and I should wait 8-10 weeks for it to be processed, but as of April 15, it is still not processed. I contacted the Taxpaper Advocate Service on 3/16/21 but have not had a response. I am using H&R block for 2020 tax return and hope that using 0 as 2019 AGI will work.
My husband has been driving me crazy asking where our stimulus checks are and showing him this thread he is finally leaving me alone. We filed our 2019 return online using Credit Karma for the first time. The IRS withdrew our payment within 24 hours of accepting our return. Now jump to 2020 and when I tried to file my return online it was rejected because supposedly my AGI figure was wrong. When I went to the IRS website and saw where they had not received my 2019 return I pounced on Credit Karma wanting to know why they hadn't filed it for me. They assured me that it was accepted. To play it safe I MAILED in another copy with a SECOND payment. Now because I can't verify my identity I can't file my 2020 return online and therefore mailed it on 2/10/21. To date they still have no record of receiving that one either and because we never got the $600 stimulus checks we're supposed to get a refund of $1331. Add that to the latest $1400 stimulus and we're owed over $4000!
If you owed on the 2019 return and set it up for direct debit AND the debit happened as directed then the return WAS filed and sadly the IRS is still behind in processing 2019 balance due returns SO try using a simple ZERO for the AGI when you efile the 2020 return. If that will not work then mailing the return will be your only option.
As for the second payment you sent ... did they cash the check ? Refuse it ? Or send it back ?
Update and some help if someone would know this answer? I was fortunate that the IRS processed my 2020 paper tax returns it took about 7 weeks..... however my 2019 paper returns are not yet processed over a year now... my question has to do with the stimulus payments...since my 2020 was processed the second stimulus payment was included...my questions is for the 3rd stimulus my wife and I are definitely qualified... however am I going to have to wait till next year to receive the $2800 when I file my 2021 tax return ? Or will the IRS know to send out to me because now the 2020 are processed...I checked the get my payment and status still says unavailable...my concern is that if the 2019 are still not processed..does that make a difference...or can I contact them (which is differcult at times) and say Im qualified where's my payment? Any advice or knowledge?
We were able to use $0 to file the 2020 tax return, in which we got the first two stimulus amount in the filing. After IRS processed it and refunded the 2020 amount (took about 2-3 weeks), IRS deposited the 3rd stimulus directly to the same bank account that we put in the 2020 tax filing (took another week).
From our experience, I think as long as IRS has processed your 2020 tax return successfully and refunded the amount, your stimulus record has been updated up till the 2nd stimulus. Therefore they will deposit the 3rd stimulus amount in the next batch process.
Your third payment will be processed, they are just now getting caught up and you should see it within a reasonable amount of time. We got all of ours, the last coming just last week. Like you my 2019 is still not processed. I go to my IRS account on a daily basis to see if they have posted it, but so far nothing. Covid screwed up a lot of things, but nothing compares to how backed up and messed up the IRS got from them scuttling their entire work force. Hopefully they recover soon and all is back to normal before the 2021 tax year is filed.
