First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2021 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

OR——if you filed by mail, expect a long wait. It is taking the very backlogged IRS six to nine months to process mailed returns. Until a human opens your envelope and enters the data into the system, nothing will even show up on the refund site, so you will have to be very patient.

It was accepted on January 19th, 2023… I’ve been checking with the IRS but no updates as of now. How long does it take is what I’m asking? Do you know how long? I filed DD and to have it deducted from my taxes. I’ve already read so many automated messages.
@dmoore154 Please scroll up again and READ. TurboTax cannot tell you when your refund is coming. TT gets no information. If you are getting EIC or additional child tax credit you will not get your refund before end of February.
I did READ! Please refer to my post where i said I’ve been checking with the IRS ONLY. I know that TT will not update. I was simply asking if anyone knew time frame.
Well the IRS says it tries to pay refunds in 21 days. But last year took a lot longer. And if you have the fees deducted it got hung up in the 3rd party bank and people had trouble getting the rest of their refund. So don't be surprised if it takes awhile. It is still early in the season and the IRS doesn't officially open Efiling until Monday Jan 23. You got accepted early. That doesn't make your refund come any faster.
