There is noting to do because the SSN on the W-2 does not get entered into TurboTax or sent to the IRS by TurboTax at all. TurboTax only sends the SSN that you enter in the personal information section.

Edit the W-2 that you already entered and add it.
Sent happen to me with Paycor how long does it take to fix the w2? My social needs to be corrected.
If you are WAITING on a corrected W-2 (W-2C) it would be best to wait until the W-2C is received.
If your employer or payroll service is aware of the problem, it shouldn't take long for the correct form to be sent. They are told to send it "as soon as possible".
I suggest waiting if possible since you don't want your return to get "hung up" in the IRS system.
Of course, if it get close to the due date of your return, use the correct information off the original W-2, use your true social security number, and file your return.
If you received a W-2C, which is a corrected W-2, the employer may have entered the information from the original W-2, such as wages and withholding.
SOMETIMES the W-2C only shows the correction, which in your case would be correcting your social security number.
Use both if needed to enter ALL the correct information making sure the result is all correct.
