I want to cancel doing any business with TurboTax. The only reason I did was because of the advance refund and it never happened. How do I opt out?

If you have not paid or filed then you can simply abandon the account and prepare your return elsewhere.  If you did not register...you can try to clear out your data....and do not start over.

I mean I did file so I could get the advance refund and it never happened and nobody is able to find out why or help me so I simply don’t feel I should be paying for something like this. What can I do?

If you already filed your tax return there is nothing you can do to get the return back.  You simply have to wait for the return to be processed by the IRS and state.   You cannot cancel a filed tax return.

Sorry you are disappointed by the refund loan.  You can try having a discussion with customer support about that.

No one in the user forum can resolve a billing issue.  If you have a question about your TurboTax fees or billing, make sure you use the word “billing” in your request for help.  Do not use the word “refund.”

@Estruna3 You cannot file two tax returns.  If you already e-filed your return and it has been accepted then any other attempts to file will be rejected by the IRS.  You have put your Social Security number into the system now, and you cannot file again.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2022 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

To track your state refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

OR——if you filed by mail, expect a long wait.   It is taking the very backlogged IRS six to nine months to process mailed returns.   Until a human opens your envelope and enters the data into the system, nothing will even show up on the refund site, so you will have to be very patient.

If you are getting earned income credit on line 27 or additional child tax credit on line 28 You are subject to the delay required by the PATH act.  Do not expect your refund earlier than late February.
