Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

I had to go out of town and forgot to submit my return. I want to file an extension - I know how much I owe, but I don’t remember what line 24 and line 9 are exactly.

Your tax due is not on those lines.  Your tax due is on line 37.

If you used online TurboTax you can access your return from any device that has internet access and look at the lines you want on the Form 1040.   If you used the CD/download your return is only stored on the hard drive of the computer you used.  You cannot go online to look at it.

Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them.  Log out of the account you are in now.

Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax?  If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.

You can go to the IRS payment website and use Direct Pay and choose Extension for the reason - https://www.irs.gov/payments

You will automatically get an extension with your payment.

I used the DVD to my desktop - not online
