I forgot to file 1099-nec, and I already submitted my return. What should I do?

if it's accepted, you'll have to amend your return. You can't amend your return until it is fully processed. if rejected you can add the 1099, fix the rejection error and re-efile. the 1040-x won't be ready until sometime in February.  if amending include any payment you made or refund received with the original return.
