Are you certain the 2021 return was e-filed and accepted?
What does it say in your account? Does it show that the return was accepted? Or does it say something else---like "rejected," "printed," or "ready to mail?”
If it says anything other than 'accepted" then it was not filed. You can still file it--but it has to be sent by mail. It cannot be e-filed. You would need to print, sign and date it in ink, and mail it.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
Hi, thank you! it literally states: Your 2021 Tax Return Has Not Been Processed and the Due Date Has Passed
You did not answer whether it was e-filed and accepted. We still do not know if you filed it.
Did you prepare your tax return for 2021 using TurboTax? If so, you can log into your TurboTax program if you prepared the returns online to access your prior year returns. Please see this link for guidance on how to view your prior year returns.
I would also recommend contacting us using this link. Please let the agent know you are trying to confirm whether your 2021 tax returns were filed and accepted. They will be able to check the efiling status of your returns.
If you determine they were not filed, you will need to download TurboTax Desktop using this link. You will then be able to complete and mail your 2021 tax returns in.
These links are absolutely useless, every time in click on any of them, it brings me back to "we're glad you're here" page with the questionnaire. On the page these is nowhere I can find any prior documents, it only shows how much I paid for it.
You will use this same process to find your 2021 return. Here is how you find your 2022 return: Find 2022 Return
