How long after the bank rejects my refund will it take the IRS to issue me a paper check

No, not at this moment. I have only been checking where’s my refund and it keeps saying the same thing, that it was sent to my bank on Feb 24th. I I tried calling the other day and got no one only their automated machine so I’ve just been waiting. I’m sorry if this doesn’t help. I’m expecting it’ll come some time in April. Someone did mention to check your tax transcript instead of where’s my refund but they didn’t mention specifically where on the transcript to check. For me the only date I saw that could be it was April 15 so I’d check that.

I’m currently going through this. My dates are the same as yours. My bank returned to the IRS on Feb.25. I spoke with the IRS Thursday and they still haven’t received the return. They issued a trace and said it could take up to 120 days. I’m going to give them a call back Monday to let them know what I was told from the bank.

When you say trace what do you mean by that? Up to 120 days is a long time, was that for the irs to receive the refund back from the bank or was that how long it was going to be to receive the refund through the mail? I do thank you for this information it’s quite helpful I’m gonna give the irs a call on Monday as well.

Trace meaning to find out where your refund is. I was told it could take up to 120 days to hear back from the IRS with information about the trace. I’m hoping it doesn’t take too much longer since it’s already been a month waiting on them to receive the return from the bank. The bank told me they should have received it by now. I advise you to call early in the morning to get through or try calling the wrong department. That’s how I got through but i still had to hold for about an hour.

Question! So if the bank returns my refund, does it go to this tax group? When I called the irs, they haven’t received the refund and it’s been over a month. They also said it was in my tax preparers account, should I contact this tax group?

Yes.  If you had the fees deducted from your refund it goes through the 3rd party  bank to take the fees out.  So if your bank info is wrong it goes back to them.  They should mail you a check.

I just called and said that a checked was mailed out yesterday!!! It’s the third party bank they mentioned about

What fees are you talking about? Is it when you use the paid version of Turbo tax and you select for the charge to be taken from your refund? Or are you talking about something else?

If you selected turbo tax to deduct fees from your refund.

Yes exactly.  The Turbo Tax fees and the Extra $40 Refund Processing Service charge (45 in California) if you want the fees deducted from your refund.

Does it show a date when your bank sent it back and they received it on your transcript or was that your bank that told you.
