How long after the bank rejects my refund will it take the IRS to issue me a paper check

So i got a DDD for 3/3 and my tax return is going to be sent as a check bc i put in a acct number /routing number that has closed. Hopefully i get it within 2 weeks from tomorrow. Im not sure. Whose in the same boat with me?

This is the issue I am having. But I have my maiden name on my bank account and marriage name on my return. So my funds were rejected by my bank and sent back to the irs. I hope it doesn't take longer than 14 days to get my refund. But I appreciate someone ask the same question and got an answer. At least now my bank got it corrected now so I don't have to go through this again. They suppose to been change my name on my account.

Once your tax refund has been sent to the bank by the IRS, the bank should then reject the funds and send it back to the IRS. The IRS will then issue a tax refund check and mail it to the address on your tax return. Once this is done, you should receive the check via mail within 14 business days.

Ok so how long will it take the bank to reject the refund from the irs??

You will need to contact your bank to learn how long it will take them to reject the check and return it to the IRS. Each bank will have its own time frame.

If the bank rejected my refund and sent it back to the IRS, will the IRS wheres my refund tool reflect that? Because it still says it was deposited into my bank, even though I called my bank and they said they sent it back. So I have my bank telling me it was sent back but am getting no info from the IRS on whether it will be mailed as a check to me. My DDD was 2/24/21 now its 3/3 and I have heard nothing from no one

So my fiance's bank rejected my refund etc and sent back both of my refunds (state and federal). How long will it take now for me to receive my check?

I was told Once the IRS get ur money back,  It’ll take up to 10 business days for them to send it to u as a check , which is Actually 2 weeks. Im in the same boat

That's not too bad then 😊 my state was returned like a week ago so I'll be receiving that one anytime. My federal was sent back the day before yesterday!

I spoke with the IRS yesterday and they told me that once your bank returns the money to the IRS then it should only take a couple days for them to issue a check. She also said the process would be 3-4 weeks, so it  sounds like the bank returning is the long part

Oh wow thats odd bc i bank with Bank Of America And they told me that it only

takes like 3 to 5 business days to send that money back to the IRS.

I guess it could vary from bank to bank, I have Truliant. They said that it was already sent back but it could just be the mail service that's making it take so long, I'm hoping that once the IRS issues the check to be mailed it is updated on the WMR tool

Yesss! Thats what im hoping for so i can keep track of my money lol. But i just called my bank and they said the check will reach the IRS By tuesday
